  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

So I found this to be rather interesting. Perusing the #G70 hashtag on Twitter, I found the post below, from "Saabkyle04" stating he just got the G70 "dropped off for the next week". His YouTube channel appears to be for in-depth reviews, so I wonder if Genesis is now sending their cars to press for their own in-depth/instrumented reviews, which would be another step forward from the press event which was more first drive and impressions.

Hopefully this is the case so we can much more in-depth information from outlets like Saabkyle and even Car and Driver and Motor Trend too... I am looking forward to seeing more reviews like those of the Canadian guys (StraightPipes, MotorMouth, EverydayReviews, ThrottleHouse, etc...) which in my opinion were excellent reviews! Hopefully with the introduction of few day or week long testing we will get better information and reviews out there!

I honestly don't need more reviews, I need pricing and date of availability at dealers. These cars have been on the roads for months in other markets, and there really isn't review that will come out that we cant just ask current owners the answer to

Agree with you 100%. Price and availability is what we need. I stopped seeing reviews. I want to go to a dealer and see the car in person to compare with my 2016 Genesis and get a real idea if its worth to make a change at my lease end.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Thank you for the link. I thought it funny that the car looks like it just parked in the middle of the woods. I mean, the G70 is not an off road vehicle. Yes, I know it’s a photography thing with a pleasant backdrop (better than a strip mall)

I think we all really only have one place we really want to see a photo of the G70...our driveway!!

We need good financing options too. Good pricing doesn’t help much when you have bad financing. Stingers would be flying off the shelves if their leases weren’t so expensive. G80 leases are overpriced too.

No need for more reviews of the sort we've been getting. But I'd still like to see some reviews where qualified automotive journalists get their hands on a car to do some more formal and standardized testing. If I were interested in the 2.0, I'd want that even more, as reports of its performance seem to be all over the place.

But yeah, another "review" that basically describes what's in the press releases, plus some judgments about how fast the driver thinks the car is compared to something he drove 6 months ago really isn't that informative.

I don't think there will be too many surprises for the V6 but still, I'd like to see some instrumentation results.

And we REALLY need to learn how much these cars will cost and when they'll be for sale. Complete agreement there.

I'd like to see something from savagegeese on the G70...

His reviews are generally later than everyone else.

The rule of thumb I've run across previously is ~$120 (or lower!) per $10,000 on 48 months with no down for a good lease. I don't know how accurate that is...

Financing is all up to you and what rate you will get at best, there's hundreds of banks you can check out, and lease? Typically no more than a few that work with each brand, and if a brand is stuck with a bad residual, there isn't really a lot you can do

Or less than $125 per $10,000 on a 36/12k lease with 0 down.

Whatever you do, don't go over to Leasehackr, because they'll destroy you for considering paying anything over 1% of MSRP a month on a sign and drive.

Hey @tymless ... are we having enough fun talking about leases and money minutia? ;)

This is one subject that keeps coming up and MAY belong in a separate thread. I really wish this were a US G70 forum, then we could have threads for every subject. But since it's a global G70 forum and very few US threads (so far), this "G70 US Availability" seems to get EVERYTHING slightly related to the US. I'm a forum newb really, so I don't know what the protocol is. What do you all think? No flames please...

Oh this thread is too far gone to fix at this point :ROFLMAO: Which is really unfortunate actually for newcomers to the forum (such as myself) who are interested in the question "when will the G70 be available in the US?" since at 34 pages now, only about 6 have actual information with viable sources, but you'd have to read everything to get it all. I think since the cars are virtually the same, it wouldn't make a ton of sense to split it into multiple forums, at least since the other car sections (G80 and G90) are global as well.

I suppose a forum based on an unknown fact has to survive by speculation, conjecture and some good old-fashioned guessing.

If we want to be honest about the subject, we can all agree as a group...none of us have any idea when the G70 will be available.

Even the term “available” is a bit ambiguous, but I think to most people it means “when can I go get it and drive it home?”

I'm here for your conjecture all week. LOL! (All of us are a little obsessed despite available facts, I suppose.)

Perhaps a sticky post of what is KNOWN woud be best?

I must admit...I am really bummed today. After all the press stuff in Maine, etc, etc...I really really thought they were going to go for a release today. Not sure why...just had this odd gut feeling. Nada. I know it's early...but I think the website would have gone live if there was anything. Oh well. Sucks.

At this point... purely conjecture... they'll give the journalists and mags their one week with the cars. Then they'll do a public US official release on July 30 (beginning of a new week after the journalists had their one week turn) OR August 1 (clean round number)?

IDK though... I was pretty bummed this morning when I typed "Genesis G70" into Google (like I do every morning) and the genesis website popped up and under it it just said "The all-new G70. Arriving in 2018. Sign-up for exclusive details....." UGHHHHH

Well...for some reason that Aug 1 release date stuck in my head. Heard that from a few places. That is 1.5 weeks away...so no way that is happening.

Why do you say no way?

I say August 1 for the possibility of a RELEASE... as in available for spec'ing on the website... availability in dealers is a totally different ballgame... if released on August 1, I could dealer availability September 1 or Mid-September
