  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

Why do you say no way?

I say August 1 for the possibility of a RELEASE... as in available for spec'ing on the website... availability in dealers is a totally different ballgame... if released on August 1, I could dealer availability September 1 or Mid-September

No I meant Aug 1 for customer purchase...meaning at least a few "demo" cars in dealerships. Heck...I don't know anymore.

All I know is I'm up in Toronto to visit my mom 3 weeks...and up to the cottage. Will be test driving one for sure.

Oh I gotcha... sorry I was bit confused there. And yeah, if Genesis' goal was to confuse us, they've done a damn good job LOL

And man you're lucky! Let me know how you like it!

I can drive the f$%ker into Buffalo...and all you peeps fly in for our own press release. That was a joke Genesis. LOL.

I've started a running list of immediate upgrades to make to my G70 as soon as I get it to personalize it and make it truly mine, let me know what you guys think (or if I should add anything) --> Right now I'm leaning heavily towards a Victoria Black 3.3T Sport AWD with black/red quilted seats:

1. Remove HTRAC badge (keep G70 and 3.3T badges)
2. Tint windows
3. Replace black seatbelts with red (probably just front to begin as this can get expensive to have it professionally done to OEM specs)
4. Put on dark chrome lug nuts (not sure about this one, just added it for deciding later)
5. Add the black metallic Genesis valve stem caps
6. Put on the colored door strikers (not sure about color, have to decide based on looks, but probably gold)
7. CONSIDER having the blank area below the head rest on the top of the seat back embroidered with the Genesis logo or "G70" or "Genesis"

There is a company in Massachusetts that will do the seatbelts for $75 a piece and I found a company called Seatco in Virginia that will do custom leather embroidery on automotive seats (I'll have to look into getting a quote for this)

Let me know what you guys think or if you want me to send you any links to this stuff!!!

I'd also either get a new frame for the license plate, or a tow hook mount to make it off center.

Good thinking! I personally don't like the off center license plate in the front, so I'll stick with the center mount... As for me, I live in northern, rural Maryland and we have these special agricultural plates that you can get. They are deep orange with a farm landscape on the bottom of them, and to me they look stunning on a black car with a low profile plate frame around them so I'll probably get either a black or dark chrome plate frame...

Thanks Tymless!

Just my opinion, but I think it would look sleek and intriguing if you took everything off. You may be too young to know it but think "who was that masked man?"

My thoughts keep going to "The Man in Black" from The Princess Bride! I'm much to young to have seen that in theaters originally though. HAHA. ... Honestly though I don't care for the look of a completely debadged vehicle... I'll have to take a look into it once I get mine!

Also, add ambient lighting to that list; I'm going to look into a few different kits. Nothing crazy, just a little bit of color while driving at night goes a long way. I'd like to hard wire them into the headlights so whenever the headlights are on, so are the ambient lights

1. I'm actually thinking about removing the G70 and 2.0T/3.3T badges. How much would that cost?
5. I think with the Genesis logo already in the middle of the wheels, this may be excessive. Just my opinion, though.
7. Dang, that sounds like it would be sick. Let me know what you get for a quote!

Maybe you could look into getting your tail lights tinted? I think that with the red LED running lights would look nice. Things to consider are that the Sport already has a slight tint and it could be illegal in your state.

For immediate changes for me, the 2.0T Elite has what I want in terms of options, but I would need to find a way to immediately wrap the lower-front trim accent in chrome to match the grille. Click the thumbnail below for reference. Hopefully that part is removable. The Sport trim could fix that because the grille and the trim are both dark chrome, but I'd hate to spend what I'm estimating to be $7-10k more for nappa leather and dark chrome, which are all I would care about from the jump in trim.

Quoting the parts talking about availability in the article...

Within a month, Genesis will begin unveiling its new network of standalone dealerships, said Erwin Raphael, general manager of Genesis North America
...
Finally, it appears to have arrived at a solution. Every dealer now can choose between converting to selling Genesis, building a separate store or accept what Raphael said is generous buyout offer.
...
The problem is while this has been happening the company has had to stop production and hold off on marketing the brand. The tight inventory has killed sales, Raphael said.
...
The G70 will start hitting dealerships in August, soon after the announcement.

With all the talk of Pre-Orders, my advice again is DONT DONT DONT.

In the past, ive Pre Ordered (special ordered) two cars. Something not to my liking both times. Dealer say "oh we can fix that" but they don't or can't. One other time, I purchased through a dealer trade.

Once dealer has your deposit, you are SOL. You either take it ore you lose your deposit.

ONLY BUY FROM STOCK.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
The only problem with dealer stock is the crap they load on the car like paint treatments, nitrogen filled tires, and mats. They are strikingly unwilling to negotiate away junk like that. Plus they have a bad habit of ordering AWD even though it’s useless in an area that never sees snow and ice.

1. To remove the badges is up to you... it just takes some heat, dental floss or fishing line, some goo-gone, and some patience
5. Yeah they're $20 so i might just order them and decide later
7. Yeah that's what I'm thinking too, I'll definitely post some pictures on here if I decide to have it done!

And the Sport trim already comes with tinted taillights from what I understand.

Yes, but it rains everywhere.
