  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

Well, IMO, game 1 Genesis halftime show was a nothing burger. One 10-15 sec clip.

At this point...I expected less.
I think they did it right. It looks like they are trying NOT to show a car that actually doesn't exist on USA soil because they are unable to sell it. :p

I suppose. Kind of funny...nobody watching that (in the States) would ever know what that car was except for us here.

I agree again. The only AMGs I'd consider are the CLS63 or the E63 Wagon. But let's be real, that kind of money would be hard to fork over... Even if I had it

Best of luck to Hyundai/Genesis as their G70s sit at the eastern ports (particularly Charleston) that will experience the storm surge from hurricane Florence!

Got a FedEx tracking number...should get it this Friday.
Good on them to follow through and also give you a tracking number. I wouldn't have been surprised if a company ignored your request after the call and didn't send anything, let alone send it in a timely manner like this.

There are no Hyundai's or Genesis' at the Charleston port. They use Brunswick GA and Philadelphia PA.

Pardon me for continuing this OT conversation, but I watched Monday Night Football last night. I must have missed the 10-15 sec. clip. I guess Genesis is paying just to have their name repeated throughout the halftime. I don't know enough about the science of advertising to know if that is an efficient use of ad dollars; maybe it is.

Advertising does have some strange twists at time and there are a lot of what I consider a dumb commercial on TV. One important thing though, is name recognition. To many, Genesis is an unknown name. People often resist change and trying new things. If they see the Genesis brand and logo often enough, they will become comfortable over time.

Showrooms are not going to be crowded today from the ad, but long term, it can help. Brand loyalty takes a long time to garner and it can also last a long time once established.

Totally true. Studies show that consumers are much more likely to consider a brand if they have just heard the name, without actually knowing anything about it. Yes, Genesis is going to need to educate people about their products, but the first step is to get into people’s minds when they start thinking about a car purchase ...

Here is my guess. Genesis paid the NFL and committed to sponsor the MNF half time shows commercial free for the season. They probably negotiated this way back and expected the G70 would have been announced. Now MNF is here, but the G70 is not due to issues discussed with license and dealer agreeements. So they had to scramble to put together a mystical commercial showing the silhouette of the car to drum up intrigue. As release info gets announced, the dark commercial will begin to show a bright and shiny G70! My guess is that may happen before the next MNF! One can hope!!

They had a short clip where you saw the G70 but that was it - no mention of it.

At this rate, we may all be waiting for the 2020 model.

Reminds me of 1989 when both Lexus and Infiniti were to be introduced.

Lexus showed the cars, inside and out. Driving down the seashore. Just the way a car advertisement should be. People learned the name and knew what the car looked like.

Infiniti showed wheat fields blowing in the breeze. Ocean waves breaking on shore, but never showed the car.

Both brands were introduced at the same time. Guess which brand sold GREAT and which brand lingered in dealer showrooms. Still the same today. Lexus sells great. Infiniti, well I don't know how they are still in business.

I see Genesis doing the same thing Infiniti did 30 years ago.
