G70 US Availability?

Not sure if this is helpful, but I contacted two Chicago-area dealerships yesterday asking when I would be able to test drive a G70.

One said that it would be “late October at the earliest” and the other said “probably a couple months”.

Granted, these are just whatever sales guys I happened to get put on the phone with, and I know others here have spoken to some people who may have better information. But for what it’s worth, this is the perception from the sales guys in the Chicago area.

Kinda disheartening as I have been watching my car limp along until I can get a new one (thought it would have happened by now). And I can sense I’m not alone here...

Just gave Mr. Dawson a quick call. I think things might be on track. He is consistent in saying that pricing should be released in the next week or so. Cars coming to the earlier dealerships (VA, etc) is in a month or even slightly less.

So all that lines up with the numbers he told me a just over a week ago.

Kind of getting excited now. They better not botch it up again...or I will lose my mind.

I'm only halfway into my lease on my Optima, so I'm pretty relaxed about the G70 at this point. I wouldn't want to get one until they get past the initial teething problems and the pricing settles down some, anyway, but it's looking like a good candidate for a year from now!

Despite the stellar reviews, as with the Stinger, it’s not likely these G70s will be flying out the door, so there will easily be time to fully vet the G70.

Just speaking for myself, my experience with Hyundai realted products has been excellent. I’m going to compare my test drives of the G70 models with those of other cars in the class, as well as the G80.
