  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

Any info on whether we can just build to order one or is the best way to go to just pick one of the ones that they get?

Also do you think we are absolutely stuck paying sticker in VA? I was hoping we could negotiate a couple thousand dollars under msrp if I agree to a trade in and financing with them.

Everything is negotiable. It’s in every dealers best interest to get the G70’s on the street.

If you are to order, it can take months to get from the factory. They also want to move all the cars in the pipeline. Once your ordered car is done, you have to wait for the next ship to be loaded too. IMO, you have a good shot at finding something readily available. Also, they want to get some cash flowing for both the dealer and Genesis. As for discounts, they have been common but it depends on how anxious first buyers are.

I bet the dealer would definitely knock something off the MSRP if you had a trade in but how are going to really know it’s not coming out of your trade in? Likewise if you lease better make sure you really know their money factor or your discount from MSRP might be just an illusion. Once you complicate the deal the way you are suggesting you are making your discount a lot harder to know for sure.

Thanks for the insight. I don't plan to lease. I plan to buy.

The webpage on genesis has changed for the G70 now
That was minutes ago. I just looked a short time ago at the old page. Build and price will be soon.

At least they announced in late summer as they said they would, Now they just have to move them to the dealers.

I got error message on the G70 portion. The IT department must be at work on uploading new content.

Any east coast counterparts? If not, give us some inside dealer perspective/info i.e. how much I can realistically negotiate off sticker out here on the east coast if I finance through them with 780+ credit?

Why would a dealer give you anything off if you finance unless he gives you a bad rate (which you don’t want) to make up for the “discount”?

You won't get an extra discount for having good credit lol. You'll get the best finance rate they have to offer, but they're not going to discount the car further because of that.

If you really want a discount you’re probably better off waiting for a couple months. Then you’ll be able to bargain based on sales so far, especially if the Stinger is still selling $8-10k under MSRP. Then they might start having to work with you. But if you’re buying one right away, then you’re in their hands because demand drives cost up, not down.

Thank you for the tip!

I sent them my email. I never give dealers a phone number...

The same reason a bank or any other financial institution would want me to take out a loan with them? It is, statstitically, as low risk as it gets, yet still profitable for them, right?

Wouldn't they still prefer me to finance through "Genesis Financial" vs paying for the car cash outright? I'm still paying fees and interest vs. paying for the car cash out of my savings or going to my own financial institution and using them.

I realize it's not going to be a massive discount or anything, but it's just something else I can at least try to use to my advantage regardless of how minimal of an advantage it really is.

Agreed. I wouldn’t be surprised if some dealers try to apply markup. Some Kia dealers are STILL doing it to the Stinger even while others discount heavily to attract those looking to take advantage of the lease cash/buyout.

Are these tiers set in stone? The only feature not available in the 37K AWD version that I really want is the upgraded 15 speaker sound system, but it looks like they want 42k in the next tier just to get that upgraded sound. It's frustrating you can't just one off the upgraded sound unless you order the car custom.

I also think it's absurd if you want a wireless charging pad you have to go all the way up to 46K from 37K in the 2.0 model to get it as well.

I know I sound like a complainer but whoever chose these packages should have allowed for more flexibility.

I cannot believe they even went through the effort of changing that page. They only thing they did was change the first picture...and added fuel consumption, base HP and base starting price. Everything below that is identical. Nothing else has changed within other areas of the website. G70 is still missing all over the place.

At this point they should have a downloadable version of the brochure (which the USA version sucks compared to other markets) or even a catalogue.

Pretty bad.

They may even offer you financing from another bank. Banks offer kickbacks when they do that. I don't know how it works with Genesis Finance as they sometimes offer 0% interest so that does not make them much money.
