  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

Actually I think you have that reversed. Usually the higher trims don't hold as well since their price is higher due to more niceties. Your example there would be the first Audi I ever saw like that, generally the Prestige is always a lower RV.
I got that from that Edmunds message board...about an hour ago. So is the S4 the exception...dunno. He’s the guy that provides the official numbers on there.

You looked at it backwards, you have to subtract 3% for Prestige.

Fme...LOL. Just went back and checked. Prestige is MINUS 3%. Sorry mate!!!

Looks like you beat me to it.

Not a problem, I love numbers so like looking at all this stuff. (y)

What does minus 3% actually mean in this instance?

Subtract 3 from the listed residual values to get the residual values of the Prestige. IE. 53% and 49% for the 36 and 42 7.5 leases.

I am willing to bet that this thread will go up to 200 pages at this rate

Which also means the monthly payment goes up slightly.

Those numbers are ugly. That gives you a monthly payment of no less than $740 plus taxes in a 3.3T Sport AWD in a 10k/36 lease. With that RV we need at least $4500 lease cash incentive to be around for what is considered a good (not excellent but good) lease.
For reference a 340i has a residual (I'm assuming you asked for 36/10k) of 61%. Granted it does have a higher MF, but they do MSDs so you could get that down.

That's the difference I'm talking about.
RV 10k/36
340i = 61%
G70 = 53%
That's a lot.

As I mentioned the other day, that will probably be the story for Genesis for a few years. They are seen as a great initial value but do not hold their value. Right now the residual for the G90 is around 40% but for them they are offering 9k in lease cash to make up for it, the G80s are in the high 40s. Hopefully in a few years once they prove their long term value the residuals will go up.

Yea I agree (even though he said 55% not 53%). However, those numbers are better than I expected. With a bit of a discount (who knows when that will happen) you can certainly get a 1% deal. I also think BMW tends to inflate their residuals a bit while Genesis is trying to be more "realistic".

If I pay my taxes up front...and do a 48 month lease...I am looking at under $600 per month. That is assuming $1k under MSRP (that incentive). Perhaps get another grand off if lucky. So I am ok with that. 42 month would be about $650 or so.
How do you know this? You only gave one RV and it'll change with the length of the lease. Did he give you the RV for different lengths? Does Genesis even offer 42 month leases?

Edit: oh and is that for the 3.3T Sport?

I just played with the math. I’m close. Close enough that if a car shows up and I’m ready to make a deal...I have my bases covered.

Played with the math as in you know the RV and calculated it out? What's the RV for 48 months? I'm trying to decide whether to buy it or lease. With it being a first year model, if the lease is a good deal I may not buy.

Honestly...you cannot go with these preliminary numbers. Just rough data. Go with what we have so far. I could say it’s close? I’m in the same boat as you. We have to wait. I think it’s close.

All I can say is that RV is low (slightly higher payment)...and MF is low (low int rate which is good...lower payment). So if you can bargain incentives and $ off MSRP...things may work out. Hoping for the best.

I plan on taking the $1k competition discount plus 2% of MSRP...and go from there.

I am shooting for a 2.0 Elite RWD in white. I'f I'm not wrong, they were around 39-40k? With maybe 1k down, 36 month lease and 12k, hope to get around 400-440/mo.

Ok. Is anyone on this thread planning on going to New Jersey and becoming the first G70 owner in the US?

I’d do it, but I live too far away.
