  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

Ok. Is anyone on this thread planning on going to New Jersey and becoming the first Genesis owner in the US?

I’d do it, but I live too far away.

I think most of us are willing to wait until wider availability and incentives kick in and would prioritize better deals over bragging rights. I'm going to test drive it this weekend though and will share my thoughts. I wonder if I'll unknowingly meet some folks from this forum there waiting to test drive as well. If you see a blue 2015 genesis roll in say hi 👋

I really want to see the car in person, since I am around the philly area, but I dont want to deal with the sales guys at Cherry Hill. I have no intention to buy the car new. Take some pictures for us if you do manage to get out there this weekend.

Certainly I won't be one of the first buyers . I'll wait patiently for the incentives to arrive in the next months. Maybe at the end if the year I'll try to make some numbers, if they don't come right I can wait a couple of months more until March.

Perhaps an auto show might be within reasonable travel distance for you.

All the NE auto show are done, maybe when the genesis dealership down the street from me finally get cars I can pop by for a test drive (if NJ has their cars, PA should not be too far ahead, the port in at Philadelphia.

Depends on what the status is in PA for the dealership approval?

I was just about to post on that. Looks like they are in the same boat as Colorado. I searched the dealer licensing databases and there are no licensed Genesis dealerships in either state.

Do you have a link to those data bases?

I just searched for dealer licensing search in the state I was looking for, seems like most state have it available. Colorado - Verification

Pennsylvania - BPOA Portal

You will have to fool around with the wildcards (seems like % works for all), drop downs etc. What I did was first make sure my search process worked by making sure dealerships I knew existed showed up then changed the name to be genesis rather than ford, Hyundai etc.

Virginia...only 1 dealer (Alexandria). I guess I was lied to when they said the 2 Richmond dealers were ready to go.

Virginia Motor Vehicle Dealer Board - www.mvdb.virginia.gov

They must have just updated that. I checked earlier and only Alexandria was on there.

Update: That is the only one I can find. One record is for a repair shop and the other for Genesis Corp.
I updated my post to 1 dealer. You were too quick :)

Genesis of Cherryhill sold the first Black Forest Green!!

:) You may have not been lied to depending on where they are in the process. A month or so ago I was reading an article regarding Genesis in a franchising trade publication that was written by a lawyer. Most of it was about their legal troubles with setting up a new dealership network but it mentioned the process. From I remember, first Genesis Corp must be licensed in each state to be able to franchise. Once that is done then the dealers that want to be a franchise have to apply to Genesis. Once they are approved then those dealers need to apply to the state to be licensed. It could be the dealers in Richmond have been approved and ready to go by Genesis but are waiting on the state. Then again, you could have been lied to. ;)

They also have other Genesis G70 in stock. Mostly 2.0T but they do have 3.3T.
I count 7 2.0T and 5 3.3T, not counting the one just sold.
