  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

I called Progressive to find out how much insurance will be. They had a very hard time figuring it out...spent an hour on the phone. The result was that they are going to add it to the insurance database. It takes 4 business days, so by Thursday I should know what the insurance will be. I'm not sure if that database covers ALL insurance companies, or only Progressive.

I have not tried to haggle yet. I figure I'll do that in person when I go up there. So far all transactions have been over email or phone. I don't know how hard I will try, but I may as well try something.
So how has your deal played out? Did you put money down and you wait until you get a car to your spec? Or do they know that they have been allocated one and you are just waiting a bit? Or (last one...promise)...did they do a Port Inventory scan?

My husband has super Google powers, and looked at their website and found the sticker for the car (currently the description on the website is very cryptic w/ a placeholder graphic). I saw that it's a Dynamic edition so I called them, asked them to look up that inventory number, and confirmed that the car is the Dynamic edition. They said it's going to be delivered to them on Oct 21st. So I asked if I could put a deposit down (1k). They informed me it will be sold at MSRP, but at least they aren't gouging me w/ a "market adjustment". They are very easy to work with and if I don't buy the car I can get my 1k back. By comparison, Alexandria wanted $2500 deposit when I was about to buy the RWD Dynamic edition. So in this case, they knew they were going to get that particular car very soon.

I'm just hoping it comes in sooner because I can't go up there on the 21st due to I'm going to the Dallas vs Redskins game :)

I sent you a PM.

Appreciate you doing the leg work on Progressive. That's who I'm with. Then I'll at least be able to have an idea of what it should cost.

Does anyone know which cars are eligible for the $1000 incentive? I haven't seen the list. I know BMW and Audi have been mentioned but I'm wondering specifically about Infiniti. I have one and wonder if that would qualify me.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have not seen a list...but a GM starting rattling off manufacturers off a list. Call any dealer and ask. Unless you can find it online which it seems like you already tried.

I would imagine Infiniti is absolutely considered a competitor to the Genesis brand.

Call Flo and tell her it only takes 15 minutes...

You may want to check here also.

Did your insurance company have 2019 G70 in their system?

Good luck! 😀

Genesis G70 finally appears, but mostly on TV
"The brand added that it's developing final specs for the standalone dealerships and expects that it will have to help some dealers set them up. The repositioning has taken a toll on sales. They're down 41 percent through September, to 8,909.
For now, Walters said, dealers are operating under the showroom-within-a-showroom model, but long-term specifics on building new stores are "loose right now."

I'm surprised that dealers are okay with MSRP. I would've expected a large mark up especially right now when so few dealerships have the cars. Though most of the cars.com listings have a $1k listed mark up on top of the delivery fee. I wonder if selling at MSRP is indicative of how they expect this car to sell... Maybe we could see some nice incentives early next year.

There is a whole thread about this.

I haven't noticed any $1k markups on the cars listed on cars.com. Are you sure they are markups and not the extras that some dealers are adding on such as tinting, fabric protection, etc.?

From what we can tell, they aren't really selling many G70s so asking for over MSRP is probably not going to be beneficial.

Yeah...these are cars are not moving folks. Which is good for us. Nobody knows about them. I plan on haggling below MSRP for sure...no doubt about it. Will I walk if they don't go lower?...probably not...but I will do what I can...as I know all the facts :)

The dealer extras are basically their mark ups. It's the same thing under a different name to increase the consumer perceived value. You pay $800 for a basic window tint when you can get the top-of-the-line 3M Crystalline window tint for the same price.

And last I checked, there were 1k mark ups. The Elite trim is basically $40k flat, $41k with destination, and it's usually $42k on cars.com.

Okay, different terminology. The markups that we have been discussing here are market adjustments and other than one dealer marking up one car for $5k there have not been any markups on the G70's that we know of.,

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Sooo... no configurator yet, but maybe someone on the inside track could share an order guide to help tide us over/clear up confusion on trims??

Thanks.

Am I seeing correctly? $56K MSRP for a G70 on Cars.com...WTF Genesis!
