  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

That does absolutely nothing for me.

It’s a step in the right direction, time will tell. Looks a little too video gamey for my taste though. I’d rather them do away with the stuck-on tablet style center stack screen that plagues the industry right now.

Yeah...I’m more interested in an MMI for controlling the infotainment system.

Being a early Genesis adopter I can tell you to not believe that everything Genesis do in Korea will be imported to the rest of the world inmediatly. They always have put a lot of technology on their Korean's cars that took years to come out to other markets.

Yeah...perfect example is the Posture Control thingee that never made it anywhere. Cool tech.

My husband wrote a scathing review of Alexandria Genesis yesterday. I checked on the 3.3 Dynamic today and the price on the website is now MSRP. Turns out the owner of the joint read my husband's review and replied to him, and changed the price. Our reviews do have meaning. Here is what he said:

I had the opportunity to review your feedback on Yelp regarding your
experience at our dealership.

I sincerely apologize for the poor service you received from my
colleagues. We’re here to make good use of our customers’ time and
provide value in their ownership experience- at the outset and
throughout. From your comments, clearly we did not on a number of fronts
and, again, I apologize.

I appreciate very much the detail you set forth in your comments,
especially with respect to the pricing. I am in Korea for meetings at
the moment, but based on your comments - especially with respect to the
pricing of the G70 in question - was able to call back to the states and
review this with the individual that runs that department. I instructed
him to correct the pricing immediately. Additionally, when I’m back in
the states, I’ll be meeting with all personnel involved in this matter
to ensure we never have a sales experience such as this.

I believe you mentioned in your comments that you purchased a G70. I
think you’ll find it a wonderful vehicle and wish you many miles of
happy and safe driving. I apologize the beginning of your experience
with Genesis was a poor one, and that is entirely our fault.

I leave Korea soon and will be back in the office this Friday. I would
greatly appreciate the opportunity to speak with you at your convenience
and apologize personally as well as thank you for bringing this to my
attention. My cell phone number is 703-915-3693. Please feel free to
call anytime at your convenience.

Again, my sincere apologies, and I hope to have the opportunity to speak
with you soon, Kevin Reilly Owner / President Alexandria Hyundai Cell:

I'm glad that your husband's feedback helped to get this thing right. That car could be yours one week ago. The owner's response seems very professional and fare. Any chance to see him on Friday and get a deal?

If the car was AWD, I'd definitely give him another chance... I really want the AWD and heated steering. When I was there originially, I had talked myself out of those two options. I got caught up in the excitement of a new car. I am going to call him on Friday tho...

I like those too. hmmm, wonder if I should wait...
We already have those 2. They were omitted in the S.Korean market. So the only thing new is that 3D Virtual Cockpit...meh...not worth the wait. Still no MMI interface.

OHHH, thanks for catching that. I do like the LED cluster, but I can probably live w/out it :) OK, back to my original plan :)

We don't have the smart trunk on the G70 (option to open and close the trunk with a push button) but that's something I don't care either. What I would like is the ambient lightning, LED rear turn lights and as you said the MMI style interface.

That is not a Smart Trunk. The Smart Trunk is when you have your key and approach the car from the rear. If you are close enough and wait a few seconds...the trunk automatically opens. And we DO have that.

At least we do have remote trunk open, and I believe u can just walk up to the trunk and it will open if the fob is on your person. I really love that. When I struggle to put my case of wine in the trunk that will come in handy :cheerie:

That is what Smart Trunk is...you posted right after me :)

Yes we have that on the G70 (which I particularly find it very annoying) When I have that feature on in my Genesis everytime I approach to the rear, the car start to beep and turning the turning lights on and if in three seconds I don't touch the key fob the trunk lid opens by itself. It happened to me many times when walking around the car.
The other thing I was refering to in my post was the Power Trunk that is an option on the G80 Ultimate Package.

Yeah...the Power Trunk (auto open...and auto close) is what the car does NOT have and it is NOT being added...just to be clear. Which I don't really care since the trunk is not huge like on a sportback.

I was a little worried about this scenario...I wonder if there's a setting where you can change the time from 3 seconds to XX seconds?

I don't know if you can change it in the G70 but at least in my 2016 Hyundai Genesis you can't. The only thing you can do is enable/disable. My wife and I have both cars parked one at each other and we have key fobs of both. Everytime my wife goes to her car she has to pass thru my cars rear end and my Genesis start to beep instantly turning the lights on, if she doesn't rush my car's trunk lid opens and she has to close it.
