  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

I don't think all of the trims are using those tires but that doesn't really matter. I would think you would have to buy new ones should they wear out prior to the end of the lease. For most leases there are minimum tire depth, if they are below that at lease end then you have to pay for new ones. I guess Genesis could have some type of tire coverage to pay for them, don't know about that.
Thank you.

I called Genesis of Atlanta today to find about their current lease structure on a 2.0T RWD Elite car, which is MSRP at 41,000.

They quoted me some ridiculous 599$/M for 36months/10K lease. Thats with 2500 down.

That translates to a residual value of 18,000 in 3 years.

I told him to f$%k off and he is out of him mind.

G70 Lease Comparisons and Discussion (USA)

Yes, the infotainment in the Q50 is a bit dated but then again I’ve heard the same complaints about the G70. I’m coming from a Toyota FJ Cruiser so really any infotainment system is a step up from where I’m at.
Having previously leased a G37X I must say the 7-speed transmission is sluggish at best in spirited driving. Compared to an FJ Cruiser I'm sure it feels like a missile but then again most cars will. My other nitpicks were the Bose audio system was underwhelming and the leather on the bolsters and sides of the seat seemed to be pretty well worn when I handed it back in when considering the ass it had to deal with (I'm 5'9 145 lbs.). My other big issue was the depreciation, after 39 months I was 20K miles under what I had paid for and the car was still $3K under water. I also did not like how hollow the car felt after three years. My current Lexus IS350 feels as solid as it did on day one after 4 years.

On the plus side, I will say I was a huge fan of the AWD system, it was incredible in winter weather. I had to unexpectedly drive from Chicago to Northeast Ohio during a storm that canceled any flight within 100 miles of either location and drove on ice for most of the drive and was quite confident while seeing cars and semi trucks wrecked throughout the trip.

Another thing to keep in mind is how long the Q50 has been available, there are rumors of a 2020 Q50 replacement which may be why they are offering such a good deal.

Good luck with your decision.

If you don't mind the styling, I think the Kia Stinger would be better than the Infiniti Q50. The size difference isn't that big either since the Q50 is more in-between the compact and mid-size segment. You can definitely get a good deal off MSRP with the Stinger, and even MSRP is a good deal for the power to start with. Handling, ride, and technology should be a lot better. The interior won't be as nice, but it'll be about the same amount of plastic though with more real aluminum.

I'm sure you're thrilled to see that. I hope they called you immediately to offer it to you for MSRP before anyone else since you had already made the trip to purchase that before the "oversight" on the price.
Surprisingly, nobody called me. However, the owner was under the impression we had already purchased one from somewhere else.

Right, because there are so many dealerships with G70's with the exact color and trim you were looking for. SMH

The only real complaint I’ve heard is the Direct Adaptive Steering (drive by wire) doesn’t give great feedback but the vehicle I’m interested in doesn’t have it. Do you have any specific reasons why it would be a regretful purchase?
Runflats also. But I agree the Q50 is quite a deal being discounted like that.

I agree it’s not the best-in-class but for $11,000 off MSRP I think the value is there.

I would hold out a bit longer. That deal can stretch to a 2019 Model. My brother picked up a 2018 Q50 Sport (not red sport) for $10k off in December 2017. If I'm not mistaken, they're also adding a couple more standard features to the 2019 as well.

I get that it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but so far, I've liked the car. Puts a smile on my face whenever I drive it. The "disconnected feel" is definitely there as the steering isn't as tactile in drive by wire, but I gotta hand it to the car for being exceptionally smooth and steady in all driving scenarios I've taken it through. I'd imagine it only gets better in the red sport

Edit: Saw someone say the Stinger would be a good option. Test drove one and also really liked it. The audio piped into the car is somewhat disappointing though. Especially when it sounds like crap from the outside

I was looking at a Q50 RS as well...
The run-flats are terrible tires, which would need to get replaced immediately.

The only REAL issue I've read/seen with the Q50 RS is that apparently there is a belt issue:
4th times the charm? 4th drive belt failure
(There's a lot more similar posts too on that forum)

I probably wouldn't keep the car out of warranty...

So I just got home from test driving the Q50 Red Sport and also the G70 Dynamic and I can honestly say I’m torn between the two. They were both amazing cars and I felt the Red Sport was a funner, sportier and more comfortable car to drive but the difference was minimal. The car I drove did not have the drive by wire steering and it felt good. The G70 felt more technologically up to date and although the infotainment display seemed a bit out of place, quality wise the Red Sport was laughably worse. The navigation display looked like it belonged in an entry level Ford from several years ago. Truthfully if the info/navigation were up to date I’d probably buy the Red Sport today. As of now it’s left me to think it over.

I left the Genesis dealer and told them if they could lower the price off MSRP by giving me a particular discount that every other auto manufacturer has offered I’d buy it. They said they’d look into it and call me by the end of the day. I’m not holding my breath.

Good luck and I hope they surprise you by offering the discount. (y)

Interesting. Opposite for me. I really like Infiniti's...I've had the G20, G35 and G37 Coupe. Wanted to love the RS. I felt the G70 Sport blew it away in every single way possible. I did not find one thing I preferred...unfortunately.

Oh well...we're all different :)

Wondering if you test drove the G70 Sport with the additional performance based specs would convince you otherwise.

Additional performance based specs? I drove the limited edition Dynamic which is the Sport plus additional features. Not sure where to go from there.

Oh...ok...so the Design is the one that is missing the Sport. Gotcha.

Oh well. Dumb question...but I am assuming you did put it into Sport Mode...right? ;)

Yes first thing I did was go Sport in both models before the car even moved.

They had a design edition as well. The green is so subtle you’d think it was a grayish black and I didn’t like how the steering wheel was cream colored fastened to a black dashboard. It looked out of place.
