  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

Yes first thing I did was go Sport in both models before the car even moved.

They had a design edition as well. The green is so subtle you’d think it was a grayish black and I didn’t like how the steering wheel was cream colored fastened to a black dashboard. It looked out of place.
Curious...initially they said the Havana Red will only be available on the Dynamic. We then learned that it can be had across different trims.

But...can you get the Dynamic in any other color but red? I'm thinking not.

Oh...one more thing about the Q50/60 Red Sport. Tuning. The G70 is so easily tuned with the JB4 piggyback...and amazing numbers. Last I checked...it was really hard to find tuning for the RS. It's been a while though. I remember something starting to come out...but it messed with the ECU (yuck...warranty issues).

So that could be a deciding factor as well if you like to tune, etc.

Looks like JB4 has one for it...but the gains are nowhere close to what the G70 gets...

No it’s limited to red. They actually had two but the manager of the place was driving the other one. Slob of a person too. Looking through the window you could see where he spilled coffee on the cup holder.

And no, I wouldn’t tune either car. Plenty fast as is and after dropping 50K+ I’d be concerned with messing something up. That’s just me.

Oh and here are some pictures I took of both cars if anyone happens to be interested

What was different in the Design edition? Anything interior wise? I have not seen it in person. I'd like to know how it compares to the Dynamic edition in terms of interior...like why is it called "design edition"?.

I loved the Dynamic and that's what I have my deposit on. I thought it drove like a dream. I know I won't be drifting around the track tho :)

I didn’t sit in it. Honestly I was interested in it until I saw the cream steering wheel and it just turned me off. The attached pic shows the details of what it adds to the Prestige.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Hi guys, in the result of modest research I found out that G70 will come with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires that are good only for 30k miles. So I wonder how 36 month lease is going to work? any idea?
Simple, 6 month into your second year of lease you fall into a pothole and your tires give up, and you are forced to buy new tires in the middle of your lease. or if not that and you just bear with it until the end of the lease, then when you return it they will charge you like $500 per tire for "excess wear and tear". win/win situation for them !

that's what happened with my 2015 Infiniti Q50 run flat sporty tires, I have changed 3 of them so far (cost of $1500) and I will have to do 2 more when/if I return the lease in a month or so.

The way they are going, I doubt Genesis would even sell 400 G70s in 2019

The dealer I just visited got 20 G70’s within the last 2 weeks or so. Per the salesman they’ve sold 2. Not exactly flying off the lot yet they seem really firm on MSRP.

Interesting. Opposite for me. I really like Infiniti's...I've had the G20, G35 and G37 Coupe. Wanted to love the RS. I felt the G70 Sport blew it away in every single way possible. I did not find one thing I preferred...unfortunately.

Oh well...we're all different :)

Wondering if you test drove the G70 Sport with the additional performance based specs would convince you otherwise.

I had this exact feeling, sort of... I haven't actually driven a G70 yet. My wife had a 2004 Infiniti G35 that was such a great car (she just replaced it last year with a Tesla Model S) that I thought for sure I would love the Q50 Red Sport. I test drove it and was so underwhelmed. The suspension felt really mushy compared to her old G35. Also, I REALLY want the adaptive cruise control on my next car since I drive in heavy traffic every day, and if you want that with the Q50, you have to get that crappy drive-by-wire steering (DAS - Direct Adaptive Steering).

These issues made me look around for alternatives, which led me to the G70. I really need to head out to Alexandria and test drive one to see if my opinion will match all the positive youtube reviews!

Honestly...you even think there is a chance? I predict less than 30 will be sold before the end of the year. Ok...tops 50.

Nobody (other than us...and folks we talk to)...know what it is. No ads anywere...in any form. Website blows.

So unless you walk in wanting to see a G80 or G90...or you are in a Hyundai dealership and a G70 catches your eye...you won't know it exists.

Let's say another 10 dealers open up. For the sake of argument...say 30 dealers across the USA prior to year end. Even if every dealer sold just one...well...whatever...you get it. LOL.

Being a hockey guy you may not know the answer but aren't they now running G70 ads on Monday Night Football as part of their sponsorship?

Damn that red is nice. Let us know what price they offer you if they go below MSRP!

The only way they are going to sell 400 G70s is when dealers at Florida and California get the cars.

All the G70 media on TV is done by that one company. I have gone on their website...and they have done that very first promo video...the Lil Wayne video...and the tennis player one.

So for the NFL segment...the Lil Wayne garbage was shown. There might have been something else where the G70 was visible but only us folks detected it. So the answer is no commercials.

And...that tennis advert...I have not seen that on TV anywhere.

Just got a call from Genesis and the most they will knock off is $500. I can always say make it $1000 take it or leave it and see what they do. They also have a grey Prestige (the model below) that caught my attention and I wouldn’t have to spring for winter tires almost immediately as it will start snowing here in about a month give or take.

Do it man!!!! Remember you’re also getting a 5 year warranty and 3 years of included maintenance. Concierge service at home/work as well.

Yeah I’m running it through my head at
Lightspeed right now. Insurance from a 2011 FJ Cruiser on either car goes up $80 a month. That’s better than I thought honestly. I’m gonna sleep on it and make my decision tomorrow. I’ll post my results :)

Now there's a man with a plan! Could be one of the 30 predicted in this years G70 sales.:hookah::roflmao:

If someone wants to purchase my 2017 G80 5.0 with low miles, Concierge service, 10 year Platinum Service Plan, Wheel/Tire and Paint repair intact, I'll be # 2 or 31.:ohyeah::popcorn:

Did the maths and my payment with insurance included would be $100 less a month on the Red Sport. But the included maintenance tightens that gap a bit. It’s nearly a wash. I guess the big decision really is the depreciation since I don’t lease. $11000 off a Red Sport takes a huge chunk out of the depreciation and I’d venture to say considering both cars over several years the Infiniti is going to be the better deal when it comes time to trade one in. I think my reasoning is logical? I know this forum will be heavily biased towards the G70 but any thoughts?

LOL I know Beefer is going to be all over me :)
