  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

G70 US Availability?

I was just on the phone w/ Progressive again. They never got back to me about pricing to insure the G70...they put in another request to get the numbers. But in the meantime, if I buy one, I call them up, they ask me a bunch of questions, and put it in their notes. If I get into an accident on the way home from NJ to VA, I’m supposed to trust their notes that I am insured...sounds kinda sketchy to me. It was like a Gentleman’s agreement. Should I be scared or trust that?

I wouldn’t. Companies are not your friends and a gentleman’s agreement is no good for something as complicated as insurance. Time to start shopping around for other companies, something we should all do every year or so anyways

I feel the same way. If I get creamed on my way back...they could be like “well we don’t have a policy on you”...furthermore, I went thru the exact same phone call last week, same canned answers. I thought that there would have been extensive notes on my phone call. It was like they’d never seen me call in before, except for a few generic details.

On that note, anyone on here gotten actual quotes on the G70? If so, what companies?

There’s a separate thread on that, you’ll find more info there (y)(y)
Did your insurance company have 2019 G70 in their system?

Found out a lot of info today from my local dealer. None of it good, and honestly it would exhaust me to type it all out. Basically just how we all know, genesis really dropped the ball and continues to drop the ball in regards to communication with their dealers. They have a giant list of cars ready to sell, and they can’t get genesis to respond. Don’t know if the issue is that there’s a delay in manufacturing, shipping to the US or if the cars are at port and haven’t been scanned into systems. They just don’t know. They’ve been great to me through this though and I appreciated them being honest with me but damn if this isn’t killing me slowly and turning my hair even more white

What state and dealer are you talking to? We have heard of other dealers saying similar things and it turned out that Genesis or the dealer wasn't even licensed in the state yet.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

You will have to check your policy but in many cases you are automatically insured when you buy a car and have x number of days to notify them that you got a new one. If I had to guess, you will be covered with your new car.

Thanks, husband said the same thing. So maybe it’s not so bad.

Random friend of mine who knows I’m lusting after the G70 just texted me he saw the commercial for G70 during The Voice, local NBC 4 here in Virginia...Genesis better get their act together!

Henderson genesis in Nevada, they are licensed

(y) I think the cars all seem to be at the ports but they aren't shipping all available since new dealers are coming online and they need to have cars for them. They also have a points system in place where dealers need to sell cars in order to request specific cars, could be part of it. From looking at the inventory it does not seem like Henderson has had them flying off the lot. In fact tonight one of there cars got reduced over $2k under MSRP on cars.com.

Speaking of not flying off the lots, it looks like dealers have a large amount of 2.0T Sport trims. I'm honestly surprised because that seemed like it'd be one of their lowest volume trims, since at $46k you might as well just get the 3.3T Advanced, be decently equipped with features, and save some money at the same time. Genesis is a good deal overall, but $46k for a 4 cylinder turbo is about the same that you'd get from the competition.

and this is why I haven’t gotten my car yet. Genesis decided to send crap trims and colors as their first shipments. No idea why they did this

Am I dreaming or is the configurator actually live for the G70 on their website? Now if we can just get the car in FL!

I notice they have listed as available dealers only the ones that have a new Genesis franchise. Nothing listed in CA. Closest dealer is in Las Vegas.

Apparently the closest Genesis dealer to Orange County, California is:
