My comment wasn't meant to be sarcasm (for once). I have no idea why they omitted it, and that was the only thing I can think of.Jeeeeez, the sarcasm! I think window shades are a nice feature but dark tint does fix that issue. The only thing is that some people don't like dark tint at night and the window shade resolves that problem...
If one gets a high tech tint film, such as a ceramic film, a dark tint (low VLT) isn't needed to reject a lot of heat. I personally have Formula One Pinnacle VLT-50, and a lot of people don't even notice it is tinted, but it rejects 49% of total solar energy (probably more than the shades). Pinnacle also comes in VLT 05, 15, 30, 35, and 40 if more heat rejection is needed.
