  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I picked up a set of ARK GT-F lowering springs and had them installed yesterday. To date I have not seen a G80 Sport lowered, so I wasn't sure what to expect . I did a lot of research here in the forum regarding GT-F versus GT-S; I did not want a dramatic drop so I ended up going with the GT-F's. I've only put on a few miles with them, but so far am happy with the handling and ride. From an aesthetic standpoint, maybe another quarter inch lower would be perfect, but I can't complain. I have my wheels ordered from Japan; will post pics once I get them! Love the G80!

Nice. I've got same car in same color, but that looks sharper!

Looking good!! ;)

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Looks great!! And don't worry about that 1/4", you'll have it in no time.

I’m usually not a fan of lowering on the Genesis sedans but I have to admit what you did there does look nice on that particular model.

Awesome! I have GT-F's on my '15 5.0 and I was just wondering...... IF I get the new G80 Sport, will GT-F works as well? well, you just answered my question! thanks!

btw. Is your car AWD?

Don't do it Dareck. Well, if you do it, at least wait until the G70 is available in the US. You'll hate yourself otherwise :-).

And speaking of temptation, can you believe how cheap Corvettes are now? I'm not doing it as I'm going to hold onto my Genesis for two more years, but I did read the menu :-).

It all depends on the price....if I can get the car (demo) for ~14k below MSRP, I'll trade my car in, just like I did with both of my Genesis '13 and '15.
The new G70 might be cool as well, but I don't feel like getting into a new design cars, rather wait for them to iron out some "bugs", I'm sure there will be many. So, I'm thinking maybe I would get one in next 3 years or.... if the price is right, I'll pull the trigger sooner, who knows! :clown:

I had a '99 Corvette, it was fun car to drive but I wanted something more comfy 4 door sedan, so I traded in for '99 BMW E39 540i/6 (best car ever, kept it for 11 years) I wish I could get the new Vette, but "modding bug" wouldn't stop at tinting windows and new set of wheels :alright:

Btw. Can't wait to put new wheels on my 5.0

Aquineas - do you mean you would expect the car to settle another 1/4"?

Dareck - My car is RWD. In selecting my springs, I did view several pictures of your car with the GT-S and the GT-F, which helped guide my decision. So thanks for that!

chewbakarox, these springs settle another 1/4-3/8" over time.

You are right...since installation on Friday, they have already settled another 1/4" or so. How long did you wait for settling before getting an alignment?

I didn't wait at all to be honest. In fact I got multiple alignments because I had a bad after-market wheel that caused me some other problems and it took me a while to identify the culprit. I got my after-market wheels and the springs done within a couple days of each other.

IIRc, I waited 2-3 weeks, but I don't drive my car much, once a week so, probably put ~200-250 miles before I did alignment.

I have the GT-S on my Sport. I was worried the GT-F wouldn't look lowered but yours looks good Chewbakarox! I've been waiting since December (2400 miles now) for the front to settle as my car doesn't look level and it's driving me crazy. I'm actually tempted to cut one coil out of the front springs. Anyway, I don't wanna hijack your thread but I'll post a pic if anyone is interested.

Thanks smooth. And yes - pics are always welcome! I'd love to see the GT-S springs on a Sport.

Ground isn't level but you get the idea. I haven't taken any real pics yet since I'm not satisfied with the overall stance yet.

Hey Chewbakarox...what wheels did you go with. Looks nice with that drop. I had the GTS on my 2013 genny but those things settle like crazy and have been wondering about getting the GTF’S for my 2015 as I just ordered rims myself.

Hmm, it looks weird, I wonder if they put correct springs at rear and vice versa. As you can see below, I had my 5.0, which is as heavy as G80 Sport, sitting on OEM, then "F" and "S" springs, you can compare how each set should look like.... and the GT-S springs in the box.

@chewbakarox - I don't wanna hijack your thread either. Tell me, and we'll stop spamming your post :clown:
