Hello everyone, it’s been a long time since I’ve posted but I’m in a bit of a mess with insurance. I currently drive a 12’ 3.8 sedan with about 140k miles. I was recently involved in a small TC involving the passenger door. Long story short, insurance is leaning towards totaling out the car and leaving me without a vehicle. I have been driving this rental car, a 23’ G70 2.0t and it’s persuaded me to get into a newer vehicle. The Hyundai Genesis is my first vehicle and I love how it sounds after doing some modifications. Since driving this rental, I like all the features it has and it’s “new driving feel”, I do not see this G70 as a practical DD for me. I am 6’4, with the seat all the way to the back and with it having sporty seats, I cannot get out comfortably.
I am looking to purchase a ‘17-‘20 G80 Sport as my first option. There are a few here in the state of CA but they have an avg of 80k miles. I’ve been trying to find out if the 3.3t is more reliable than the 3.8 motor. I also like the look of the Sport. I know if I can’t get the sport, I can settle with the 3.8 G80 cause I know there’s a way to convert to the sport bumper.
Now onto the G70. After doing my initial research, I found out that you can get the 3.3T in the G70. I’m looking for the same model years. The thing I would sacrifice would be space. Again, there are a few that have about 80k miles.
I would want to find out if it’s worth buying a G80 or G70, 3.8 over the 3.3t, Sport vs Base. I haven’t received word from the insurance company on what they wanna do with my vehicle. If all comes to worse and I cannot get into something newer, there are some BH models for sale under 60k miles for under 10k that I’ll just buy.
Any info is greatly appreciated.
