Gave Genesis 4.6 a Try

I've owned four brand new Acuras (90 Legend, 92 Legend, 99 RL, and 05 RL)and after paying $50K for the 2005 RL that I bought in October 2004 that by 52k miles was on its third air conditioning compressor and after both low bean HD headlights went out at the same time costing $1150 a piece, I decided to end my relationship with the Acura RL. I picked up a white 09 Genesis 4.6 last Saturday and I am very pleased with it so far. I hope that it proves to be a great car. I found that Acura does not live up to the name plate.

Congrats on the new genesis. Too bad you dont still have the 99 RL, that was a great design. I think that was the best RL Acura made. The new RL is rather bland and unexciting. Glad to see you make the switch

Thanks to each of you for the congrats and welcome. So far I am really thrilled with the Genesis. The Acura was always short on torgue to me. Plus I always wanted Acura to come out with a V8 and with the reliability issues with the 05, those two things were the straws that broke the camel's back for me. The Genesis feels significantly more refined than the RL and when you need to move out it does so with grand authority. I also like the styling of the Genesis better than the current RL hands down. I agree that the 99 RL was the best body style. Yes, I believe that I would want to be the last type of person that Acura would want to lose.

Delnic, is it safe to assume you also have the Tech option? If so, how does the Lexicon compare to the Acura, especially with a surround source?

The Arura Bose system really sounds great; however it's apparent that the Lexicon 7.1 Logic system is superior because the music is more refined and clear. Yes I have the Tech Package.

I also forgot to mention that the proximity door handles on my 05 RL stopped working and the Acura dealership told me that I didn't even want to ask about the cost to replace them. They indicated that the handles are unreasonably expensive to replace.
