In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Hi Gen Owners.
My gen started showing oil pressure light coming up a week after I got my oil change performed at the dealer & Dealer was saying it's common issue with my model & it's under 5yrs 60k warranty. It seems it's meant to broke after 60k for most of Gen Users. Mine is at 70k at this time.
I found some video on YouTube explaining how to replace & found some comment it was Recall in Korean Gen Owners. .

[소비자경보] 제네시스(DH, DH PE) 193,937대, EQ900(HI) 38,794대 무상 수리 리콜 - you might need to change the language to English.
It was recall in Korea Since Nov.2021 & our Genesis is made in Korea, which is affected with this issue.

Why Hyundai is not recalling this issue? article.webpoil pressure sensor issue.webpit said anyone who replaced out of the dealer they can claim reimburse for the damage.

Is this only for the V8? I haven't seen this on my 6 banger.

Mine just started having this issue. I was about to change it myself but I guess it might be worth it to call my Hyundai dealer and ask about it. The Korean recall definitely gives some ammo to ask for a replacement even though I'm out of warranty.

I think it applies to all the Genesis models, mine started acting after 69k miles. If you haven't had an issue after 65k, you don't have to worry about.
It started when it's autohold or braking, so I though I had a low brake fluid

It’s all models, what is your mileage & the year?

Not easy to install. Unless you have a time & patience to do it. What mileage started happening to you? It sounds like defected sensor being made for all the genesis.
Let me know where Can I claim for recall request for genesis owners.
If we don’t contact or do nothing about the issue, They probably wouldn’t recall the issue.

I do like to work on my vehicles as a hobby so I don't mind, just new to this engine so I'm sure it will be slow. It just started happening at 71k miles.

We could try to make a safety report at nhtsa.gov in the US. They only list recalls that are safety issues, I hope they would deem the oil sensor serious enough for a safety recall.

Yep, similar mileage here. I will give you update after contacting Hyundai USA

Word of warning!!!

Be careful when removing or installing the oil pressure switch. The cast aluminum lower front timing cover could crack if too much torque is applied even at the factory spec range located in the service manual. The same could probably happen when removing the oil pressure switch as well.

I would only change the oil pressure switch if it is actually defective to avoid swapping out the lower timing cover if it does crack.

I encourage all of you to report it here, if enough of us do we can possibly get refunded for the oil sensor repair and a recall can be placed:

I'm still driving with a bad sensor. I still don't understand why U.S is not recalling the issue. While Korean Genesis model was recall while back.
Our parts all made in Korea.

Maybe the laws are different in Korea, or maybe Hyundai is more concerned with their image in Korea than there image in the US. It's not a safety issue, so it won't be a US government mandated recall. Hyundai can choose to me it a voluntary warranty extension if they wish.

Same, I had the issue surface right after 55k and Hyundai service department wanted big money to replace it ( more than a spark plug replacement, so think big $ for the labor ) . The issue originally showed in Arizona when it was getting cold out . Now that I moved to Washington and it's cold all of the time, the issue has gone away lol so it's bogus issue. Car runs great and it's a lot of work for something that goes away when you start driving and press on the pedal .

I am reporting the same problem here. I am the original lessor and then owner of the car. I have done all my own all changes at 4 month/4000 mile intervals.
I first thought that the problem was related to the broken off tip of the dipstick since it is very sporadic.
Problem began around 70M miles and has worsened although there are stretches of time when I dont see it at all. Has become more frequent but no engine noise or any other indication there is actually low oil pressure. Usually occurs when the engine is cold and only come on at idle or less than 1000 RPM. Not always though rarely will stay light below 1500 RPM.
It always stops happening. There is a great write up on another forum about changing it yourself. I could do it but dont want to. It requires pulling lower intake manifold and the fuel rails. Probably need to make the special tool suggested too.
Has anyone tried an engine flush to see if the orifice might be lightly plugged up causing this? In my case I sincerely doubt it would work. I think it is leaking thru the electricals if i had to guess.
Here is that link. And yes, I realize it is for a Gen Coupe but same position if you have the 3.8;

Hello, Kurt.

Mine started around the same mileage. My local Hyundai dealer won't do it & ask me to visit genesis dealer. This will be my last Hyundai Genesis. Hate visiting the dealer who doesn't know anything about the car & they always kept saying you're driving MB or BMW, you should use best of everything, expect higher maintenance & parts.

Below link is a video clip of how to replace the sensor.
