If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What's everyone getting for miles per tank? 300, 400, 500?

I used to get 450 on average when I had my 4.6

Thanks,

In mixed driving, I get about 350. On a long trip on all highway, it would hit 400 easily. When I had my 4.6, my best ever was 500 on a tank (took a photo of it but I have no idea where it is now lol).

What a great quote...

In 2012' exceeded 525 miles.. Forget the exact amount gas left or exact mileage over 525. Still could go further for sure. I estimate back then well over 600. But then a caveat or so... First, I went to my favorite Shell gas station that had/has a pump handle that lets it fill real slow. Was going on long trip. Was able to add just under 3 extra gallons past the first click. Fueled to the top of filler.. Ok, I know some will talk about the venting system.. Once moving it settles and adjust to the other side of tank (the tank is not one big block, it has air gaps because of asymmetrical design), and will be draining on the trip... Went about 140+ miles before needle even began to move off full. This was in 2012 5.0 with Michelin mileage tires, pumped up, no winds, some hyper mile 4-7 car lengths back from cars and trucks going over 75. Averaging 31 mpg or so. Never had the gonads to push to 600..

2015 will not get that far... Less MPG. Have not tried anything beyond 420miles or so,, plenty of range to get past 500. Even the DIS says so..

I get consistently around 400-430 miles per tank in a city/highway driving mix back and forth to work. On road trips I am getting between 470 - 490 miles per tank. I use strictly Mobil Super Unleaded fuel and run in ECO/Sport mode mix depending on the situation. Can't beat the mileage for a 5.0 heavy azz car like this in my opinion. :D

Speaking of miles/tank. Since 2009 the tank has been 20.3 gallons or almost 77 liters so nothing has changed. I am the type of person who hates to fill up so I stretch it out to the max. Theoretically I can get 77 litres/fill however I drive until the low fuel light comes on and there are --- miles remaining on the computer and there is only 1 lonely bar left on the gauge for what seems like forever. I can only top off to 68 litres at best. The 2009 and 2012 hit over 72 most of the time when filling. Bottom line is even though I max out my fill ups almost dangerously according to the gauge, I still have over 2 gallons left according to specs on the 2015.

Thanks for the posts guys. I'm contemplating a 2014 Equus that has the same 5.0 as the genesis. However the Equus is heavier. Was just curious how the 5.0 does.

I like to fill up as least as possible. I will let the gauge get down to fumes and then fill up. With the amount of driving I do it would really get on my nerves...

Would hate to only get 350 or 380 a tank.
