  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
Genesis G80
Watched an NFL football game last weekend where the TV presentation was sponsored by Genesis.

I had a course in marketing at the Wharton business school and frankly I found their marketing approach to be extremely weak and probably ineffective.

One of the commercials showed Korean children playing tennis and ended with a Korean tennis professional who has sort of become a superstar in that country. I wonder how many people not very interested in tennis would have recognized him, and what kind of testimonial for car would that be anyway?

The other ad was extremely amateurish in my opinion.

Any other opinions out there or comments on whether Genesis is promoting themselves in the right direction. I really don't remember what Lexus did to attain such high standing in the market.

I don't watch football so did not see the ad.

I had marketing courses up the street at Temple University. I think the G80 ad is well done.

I don't either but I have seen many on NHL though.

Ok Ed (BTW- I hope you don't park your Genesis in North Philly)
What do you think the target groups for Genesis G70 and G80 should be?

No, moved out of Philly 37 years go. North Philly was a rough area.

NFL would be OK for either, but the G70 market is going to be a younger demographic. Nice step up from a Sonata class car too. To test drive a G90 I think you have to show your AARP card. When I was in my early 30s I had to drive my boss's Caddy once in a while. I never wanted to be seen driving it.

My friend's college age kids were excited when I told them I was getting a G70. I was surprised they even knew what it was.
