  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
2G Genesis Sedan (2015-2016)
I have replaced my 2015 Genesis sedan battery after 2 years and have heard that keeping you remote further than about 30 feet from your car may prolong car battery life. Because if car sees remote within range it will constantly search for it.

Do you mind telling me how much you paid for the new battery?

My 2015 Genesis sedan gave me a scare the other day with starting up. After playing an evening hockey game, I came out to the car which had been sitting in -15c temperatures for maybe an hour and a half and got what I think was a battery discharge warning when trying to start it. The car wouldn't start normally after a few tries, but then started when I gunned the gas pedal when starting. I don't ever remember having to do this before. We have somewhat extreme summer and winter temperatures here but the car only has about 35,000km/22,000mi on it and is garaged overnight. I am wondering if I should have to change the battery.

I will try to remember keeping the key 30ft away from the car but this is the first problem I've had.

Im still on my stock battery for my 2015 3.8 awd with 68,000 miles and i live in AZ summer heat just kills the battery i already went through 1 battery for our 2016 accent at 30k miles

This is the first car I've had with the batt in the back. I would assume with it being out of the engine compartment and in trunk (with some extra paneling layers), the heat/cold would be somewhat reduced.

The Dealer charged over 500.00. If you have AAA club they carry a battery for less will charge a little more to install in the trunk. AAA will not charge a service call if they install a battery that goes bad. And they come you to to install. May need some extra time for them to get the battery.

You should call AAA club now ask for price on new battery.

Dealer charge over 500.00 and I had to have AAA club tow it to dealer. Better to have AAA check your battery and charge system those batteries are only supposed to last about 2 years on 2015 Genesis

Heat and just space. I've had a few cars with battery either in the trunk or under the back seat. Helps with weight distribution too.
