  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

You should get a notification to download the new version mobile app when you log in to your older version 2.x mobile app. At least that's how it worked for me.

I also received a notification when I opened Blue Link 2.XX on my Iphone. Clicked on the install icon to update. I do notice though that I have to type in my password each time on this new version. The old version remembered by password which provided a speedier access to the app.

2014 (not 15) 5.0 RSpec

It hasn't given me that option. Even checked the APP store. No upgrade yet.

Updated to 3.0 almost a week ago (Droid phone).
It does ask for password every time you run it.
And it seems a bit more intuitive and quicker than 2.0.
I've recently updated my subscription from Connected (3 yrs free) to Remote package via a special promo from Hyundai for $86 for two years.

No update for me too, the App Store usually update my apps automatically, still the same app.
Regarding the login, I really don't like to login each time as well, yes the other BlueLink app didn't log you out. I wrote a email to app support about it, complained that each time we have to login, and when you want to start the car , it takes time to type the password, then the PIN, they responded me :
Thank you for contacting us. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. Your concern has been sent to our Hyundai Customer Connect Center and you will be contacted by them to resolve your issue. You can reach this department directly at 1-800-633-5151 or through email at ConsumerAffairs@hmausa.com.

We appreciate your patience, and we thank you for choosing Hyundai Blue Link.

So far no one contacted me :) It was 2 weeks ago.

Could the update be for Android phones?

Very likely as the last 2015 Genesis App came out on Android about 1 week before it was available to download for iPhone.

First, to chime in, I have a Genesis 3.8 Ultimate and run an iPhone and the Genesis App. When I checked my app, it says Version 2.0, it did NOT inform me of an update and there's no update in the App store, but the app in the store gives its update date as Oct. 12, and what's on my phone DOES require log-in every time.

But, my REAL question here is videopho: you said you got a special promo from Hyundai for an $86 for two years update, where did that come from?

Could the update be for Android phones?

Could be. My phone is Android and I got the notice and installed the upgrade.

An odd thing about the upgrade (or update) is that it installs in addition to the old version - the old version is left in place and not uninstalled. This is kind of unprofessional especially considering that the old version will be disabled on 11/15.

And, I don't see much of anything different except for the new interface. Oh, they did OMIT one feature from the old version that I used frequently - POI History. This feature is gone in the new version. I'm going to miss that.

Also, the new version prompts for your password every time you start it - which is not a bad thing.

I just noticed that the new ver 3 app IS available on Google's store now. And one other shortcoming - it won't install on my Nexus 7 tablet (wi-fi only) - the old ver worked fine on my Nexus.

Closing the app without logging out is just like putting your key on the dashboard and closing the door without locking it. If you lost your phone or had it stolen, you also gave them the key to your Genesis.

As it looks like it's for the Android phones, but the update is released, just called BlueLink customer service, was 15 min late, they work on Sunday's only until 3 PM PST :)
Here is the info in Hyundai news, never knew about that page existing , and OUUUCHHHH, Turns out here in Miami is going on Miami International Car Show!!!!
How could I missed that info??? I subscribed the news notifications from BlueLink, about recalls, any other activities, available products,Hyundai participate there, and I received nothing!!!! I accidentally found out searching for the 3.0 app update. Bought a tickets right away, good thing that it's still going for another week.

Folks - this version 3 Bluelink app is not the app for the 2015 Genesis - why it's being discussed in this forum is beyond me as it is likely to just confuse 2015 Genesis owners?? The 2015 Genesis app is at version 2 which arrived mid last month!

If I lost my phone , I'll just put in lost mode, and if the one who got my phone find my car, the only thing they can do, is just open the doors or trunk , and start it for 10 min, they can't drive it without the FOB key, and also need to know the PIN code to open doors or start the engine.

And also they can't unlock the phone too, need to know PIN for that too :)

Probably it will be same this time too

Just found out from the BlueLink customer service for iPhones the app will be available at November 15, for Droids they already released, but still working on iPhones app, as the customer service told me, that no much changes will be made, just the compability with the iPhones 6 and 6 plus

The reason it's being discussed is because the original poster specifically inquired about the new Bluelink v3.0 app. There was not a word mentioned in the post about the "Genesis" app which I suppose applies to the 2015 models only.

Any confusion should be credited to Hyundai for creating so many apps with similar names and features.
