  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I parked next to a newer ES 350 today, same color as my car. The Genny was 20% larger, or there abouts. At my next stop I parked next to a new CTS, the same. A couple of spots down an Audi A6 looked a lot smaller.

On to the grocery store and parked next to what looked like one of the last of the Buick LeSabre's. Size appeared to be about the same.

Size, price, reliability, quality, if Buick was still producing their traditional lineup the Genesis could easily have been the top of the line Buick.

I know here in Florida a lot of the people who would have bought a Buick or Olds are driving the Genesis, older, value oriented buyers who don't care about the MB or BMW badge but want great reliability and a larger car with a quality feel to the materials. Way above an Impala but not an S class in price or complexity.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
The Buick LaCrosse is SUPPOSED to be the Buick flagship and is somewhat comparable to the Genesis - though it's more closely a competitor for the Lexus ES350.

One of my neighbors has a Lexus GS (3rd gen), and when I park next to it my Genesis looks several inches longer.

The Genesis is both longer and wider most other cars I looked at (XF, Q50, CTS, GS, MKZ, 5 Series, E-Class, A6) and approaches the size of some "full size" cars. About the only car I considered that seemed close in size was the full size Chrysler 300.

I think the width of the Genesis, even more than the length, helps the interior feel as spacious as it does. Like the old Pontiac commercials used to say, "wider is better."

So, the Genesis is the new Korean replacement for Pontiac that kicks butt against the Buick top Chinese offering.

And it was tuned by one of the few remaining British companies that have not become Indian companies.

I'm betting on the Korean Genesis.

Just wish the Gen 1 had wider rear tires. It looks funny from the rear because of the narrow rear rubber. Not sure about the Gen 2 as I haven't really seen enough to know.

I parked next to a Jaguar XF at the store. Almost exactly the same length, wheelbase, roof line, etc.

The rear tires on our 2015 Genesis 5.0 are MASSIVE :D

A friend of mine has the new Lacrosse and now he wishes he had bought the Genesis. It doesn't have half the options that we have and he said the Nav system sucks.

I agree that the Hyundai Genesis is a superior car to the Buick LaCrosse...

I love the size of this car. Hope they don't change it.

With my 6'3" frame in the front seat many four door cars essentially become coupes. I'm not even that tall, in terms of tall folks.

Speaking of AWD/FWD models, I'd say the XTS is more of a competitor to the Genesis than the LaCrosse.

I agree, Analog. The new Genesis is the only car I've driven or owned where I don't have the seat back as far as it would go.

It's also the only car I've driven 5 hours at a stretch, and 11 hours in one day and still be able to walk afterward. Great road trip mobile.

Yes, power-wise as well.
