Yes the GT-R has tranny problems but it is still an amazing car, and the problems will be fixed. Just because it doesnt have a broad appeal and has a high price tag shouldnt exclude it from the competition, especially when it is blowing the doors off cars 4 times its price
in a sense i don't want to take anything away from the GTR, it is an amazing car. BUT when you have to void the warranty to achieve those things, which oh by the way are the published performance numbers for the car, it doesn't count. i am sure Nissan will fix it, but it seems to me they put the car on the road before they had it all figured out. if volkswagen can figure out how to get over 1000 HP to the ground, nissan can do it with 530.
