Hey all,
Glad this forum exists! Unfortunately (in a way), I'm an ex-pat in China and will be for a number of years. Some cars are cheap here while others are stupidly expensive (mostly wholly imported cars) and some just plain unavailable. Only "affordable" (by that I mean under 100k USD) performance cars here are the Mazda Rx8, Impreza Sti and Evo X. There are no Mustangs of any descrption around...
I bought a Mazda 3 last year as it was an offordable and fun car at the time. I thought I'd use it a few years 'till I had the dough for an Evo X (probably 65-70K USD, scary, I know) and then suddenly, Hyundai releases the Genesis coupe (called the Rowens here....don't ask) at a price tag of around 40-45k USD for the 3.8L.... I could in fact, already buy one, which is very, very tempting.
Hell of a difference, so now I'm actually thinking of wether or not to forget about the Evo entirely. I think it's the faster car, plus there's the double clutch transmission and the promise of 4 weel controlled drifts...but then again, I think this new Hyundai could really kick ass too.
Has anybody had the chance to drive an RX8 and/or Evo X as well as the Genesis 3.8? How would you say they compare in performance, fun factor and feel? And how much more do you think you would pay for either?
Thanks a lot!
