  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Our Coupe is up against some tough competition. Will the Genesis Coupe continue Hyundai's win? (2009 North American Car of the Year was the Genesis Sedan) Could Hyundai do the unthinkable and strike a knock out one-two punch? Stay tuned. It would be amazing if it did. What a marketing and bragging right for Hyundai (and by extension to owners/enthusiasts!)

Considering the cost, what it can do, how well it does it, excellent quality and bad ass looks........I see no real competition for the Genesis Cp

If everyone finds out what GREAT car this is........they will start showing up every where. So can't we just keep this as our little secret?:D

On the sports car tip. The genesis has one very strong competitor. The 370Z.
At 33k with sport package. (Track tuned susp., 14in Akebono brakes, 19x9f 19x10r summer
Tires.) 0-60 4.7 quarter mi. 13.3, lateral .99g, 155mph top speed respectively. Its no slouch.
But the hyundai genesis coupe has a much stronger interior standard feature level at base and adds on almost everything the 39k 370Z adds at 39,500k versus $31,750. That's what makes it a hard one.
Far Superior class performance versus the full combination of very good performance and more features than any other car in its class. I don't even know if the 370 is a candidate? But what I can say is.
These two coupes are the only 2 coupes worthy of any award this year.
Where pony cars have improved on old technology. These cars have brought all new platforms, cutting edge technology, and style that has put pressure on cars above there class.
I wish I can own both. I think hyundai might actually get the award tho 4 being new to the sports car world and putting out a great product. And if the Z isn't in the list. Then I can't think of anyone who deserves the award more than Hyundai!

It's a great car. The Sedan won because it has changed the way people think of Hyundai and what 35k will get you, so that makes it revolutionary (Lexus 89 redux). The coupe is more evolutionary than a real game changer. It's a strong contender for the award, for sure.
I would also have to toss in the new Taurus SHO, getting Detroit back to respectability and hopefully removing the stigma of midsize american sedans as "rental cars" and for middle class fat people who think of cars as appliances. Also have to give props to the Volkswagon Jetta TDI for marking a renassiance of the diesel engine in North America. What do these 3 cars all in common? Take a theme that has worked in the past, and make it 21st century for the masses. (Sorry Porsche, Panamera too exclusive).
