  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Free NACS Adapter Thread: Post Your Updates

The Reddit poster did provide a screen shot. There is also a second report, on a Facebook group, also with a screen shot. So the emails are in process!

In the San Francisco, CA area EA now charges .69kw! My local utility charges .44kw. My local time of use Tesla price (non Tesla membership) is .39kw.
It's station location dependent and I don't know why some cost more than others. In SF proper, 3 of the 5 EA stations charge 56 cents per kWh and 2 of them charge 64 cents per kWh.

When I got the car 2.5 years ago the same EA station charged .41kw, then .51kw, .59kw and today it's .69kw. A local EVGO station also just raised their price to .69kw. Yes I agree pricing depends on the city/location. Right now TESLA is still the cheapest in my area. I just received my A2Z adapter and will try it out in a couple of days. Buying it direct from A2Z was cheaper than buying it on Amazon ($179 + tax). From A2Z it was $152 after 10% discount, there was no sales tax and included free shipping to the U.S..

Another Redditer in that thread posted:

"Dealership today told me that there’s a limited supply and a slow rollout. So emails will come when they get to your name on the list."

Assuming that is accurate it pretty much confirms my theory that they haven't secured a large enough run of production of these (likely because they are taking care of Hyundai owners first and we have much smaller sale numbers).

I'm guessing the wait is going to be long. I will be curious to see the first reported delivery and what the model number is to see if this is the exact Hyundai adapter that is available.

That email looked like spam. Guess I'll have to check my spam and promotions boxes going forward.
Might it also show up in the Genesis app under All Messages?

There have now been multiple reports on various forums. Same email.

Got the e-mail! It is titled, "A GIFT FROM GENESIS, [MY FIRST NAME]: DC FAST CHARGING ADAPTER". Asked me to click on a link to confirm my mailing address (which I did) and then tells me that I'll be receiving a tracking # once it's in the mail.

This is happening, people!

What year is your car and when did you buy it? Just wondering if there is a specific order Genesis is sending out the emails i.e. are they starting with the people that recently bought their car etc.. I have a 2023 model year and bought it in 2022.

Congrats! Can you please post the email address the email came from so that we can all watch out for it/put it in our safe list? I have too many Genesis emails going to spam.

One reditor who posted had a 2024 advanced that they bought in December of 2024. I am not sure they are going by order of when you bought it, which would have made sense.

Today was my first TESLA Supercharge using the A2Z adapter. From the plugging in and starting the charge, it was flawless! I did have a TESLA driver charging next to me ask why I pulled into a TESLA charger with a non TESLA vehicle. I told him TESLA is opening up the network to non Teslas. He replied that he had not idea that was happening. As I drove away, other TESLA folks charging looked up at me. They are probably thinking it's going to get a little more busy at TESLA charging stations.

Cool.

How long did you charge and what charge rate/speed did you see?

This post made my day. Tesla has had adapters to use L2 and L3 non-tesla charging stations for a long time while the rest of us have opined for the SCN.

My brief time driving a MY the best thing about it was the network. It's going to get a lot more uncomfortable for Tesla owners as SC stations start getting filled with everybody and their Chevy Bolt....
