  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Free NACS Adapter Thread: Post Your Updates

2 cents/kWh in metro Atlanta overnight on the EV rate plan. There are a few cents/kWh in additional fees, but still a great deal.
That’s a great deal.

When we lived in Chicago, some overnights ComEd would pay us to use electricity

Extra total travel time is inevitable anytime you exceed an EV’s range. The trick is to minimize that extra time and that’s what ABRP does so well.

Motor Trend recently reported on driving an Ioniq6 from Seattle to LA, and the reporter charged to 100% multiple times, nearly doubling the total charging time that should have been needed… 🙄.

It’s stunning to me how little even auto journalists understand about EVs…

Good luck and enjoy the trip!
Or is it a journalist trying to control the narrative? We still live amongst EV haters.

I wish Genesis had incorporated it into the fob itself. I always carry the fob and having the physical key not be part of the fob is a misstep IMHO.
I have a key inside my fob. I have to pop it open. Maybe its a G80 item.

I thought about that but I also read and watched a lot or reviews about 3rd party charges and adapters. A well known YouTuber is "State of Charge" All he does is test all of the different Mfg. chargers, and aftermarket adapters. He has reviewed Lectron and A2Z etc.. He also has one video in which he states there could be a problem wit et OEM adapter from Hyundai. I would like the one from Genesis, however we really don't know how long it will take for us to actually receive one.
If I remember correctly his concern about the OEM Hyundai adapter was that if used on non Hyundai/Genesis/Kia cars it could have problems.

I received an email from Genesis America on 4/16 offering me the NACS adapter. Had to confirm my mailing address and then in a follow up email on 4/25 Genesis America confirmed the adapter had shipped! I live in NJ.

You are one of the lucky ones! Congratulations 🎉. Once you receive it please take a photo of it and post it for us. Also please try it out at a Supercharger and let us know your review of it.

I received the email today as well. I had purchased my GV60 in California on 12/26/2022. Not sure if they email out owners based on location, purchase date, alphabetical.

Everybody getting emails, and I'm still sitting at home on prom night - sadness. ;)

You’re not alone. I haven’t gotten an email yet either 😞

Gents, misery loves company. I'm spending way too much time refreshing email these days.

I am very glad that people are getting emails and coming into this thread to report them however. It gives us a sense that Genesis is finally getting emails out to people and picking up the pace.

Has anybody purchased a cheap NACS to J1772 level 2 adapter for use at hotels etc? I know they are not for Tesla Charging Stations

I purchased a TeslaTap Mini adapter with my SuperTap for those situations. They’re both well built and work without a hitch.

Also, still no email here from Genesis about the free adapter. The cost of buying my own for my recent trip was well worth it just for the flexibility and I’m glad I didn’t wait any longer on Genesis to reach out. I purchased my 2023 in mid-2023, so it’s not clear how they’re deciding on priority.

Just received email. Of note, I am not the original owner (and have been wondering if i would get one since e.g. complimentary EA charging does not transfer)

Thanks for posting! Great to know for those who weren't the original purchasers.

I have an EVDANCE J1772 adapter. I have used it 3 times at hotels, works like a champ!
