  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I get this is the stinger, but I believe this is the first time Carwow has raced this platform, so pretty exciting.

Even though it's the RWD version, I was still surprised the stinger lost so badly. It wasn't even close.

VW Arteon R v Kia Stinger V6: DRAG RACE:

It was all in the launch. Wet surface too. However, yes the R is quick

It's all about traction, Stinger kept spinning its wheels due to the wet track. But it destroyed the Arteon on the roll race which is where off-the-line traction doesn't become as much of an issue.

AWD would have probably resulted in a win for the Stinger off the line too. It's clearly the more powerful car.

^ Yeah, totally a traction issue (the Arteon being equipped with the DSG also helps).

Even the 2.5T Stinger equipped with AWD likely would have beaten the Arteon (if it had a DCT, definitely would).

Speaking of the 2.5T Stinger, reviews have finally been dribbling out.

Straightpipes comparison of TLX Type S vs G70. I stopped watching them as their quality fell down hill fast for the past 2 years and with TH being the best Canadian youtube reviewers out there eclipsing them. I'm just baffled at how widely divergent reviews are of the TLX Type S, with some saying it's a subpar sports sedan and others saying acura did a great job with it. I trust TH more with their poor rating of the TLX Type S.

Yeah TH is awesome. These guys (well in particular, one of these guys), I'm not particularly fond of.

I thought I was the only one.

Same. Although cant quite put my finger on exactly why. TH is top quality though, they are putting out content that could be on TV easily

Honestly (and I posted in the video) - I find it hard to believe the TLX would be faster around a track. It's a 61/39 nose heavy fwd based platform... Some credible reviewer needs to lap these two.

It probably comes down to driver's skill. I say that with the honest admission that while I have dabbled here and there on the track, I'm very much a novice and I'd probably be faster in the TLX too. As far as getting my G70 AWD on the track, hang on while I count how many times I've had it on the track. Hmm, let me think, yep, the answer is zero. Nevertheless, while I am certainly biased, I'd still prefer my G70 (though I would probably have at least visited a BMW dealership just to say "hi", which I didn't do for any of my other Genesis purchases).

Yeah, what you say makes sense. I auto-crossed for 10 years and though fwd cars can do very well, a proper weight distribution and rwd platform will always do better. It's just physics.

Goose has a review of the refresh:

In short, he likes it, even more than the TLX Type S, but it feels like he and Jack didn't do their research that well this time. They claim the 3.3TT is a single turbo rather than a twin turbo, and that the G70 is priced at the same level as the Germans when there's a ~15K difference at about every level. He also seems to completely ignore the drift mode on the AWD version.

Some others in the GV70 forum have noted that he's being a bit more complacent lately, and I hope that's not the case. But this isn't helping him out.
Really like their channel too. Surprised at what they had to say about the G70.

Review update: 2022 Genesis GV70 presents chic design in composed package " it won our Best Luxury Car To Buy 2022 award."

One of my peeves "At $65,045 as tested, my loaded Sport Prestige AWD 3.5 model also lacked touch-activated rear door locks. This feature is typically found in luxury models, but has started to come downmarket to models such as the Nissan Pathfinder and Jeep Grand Cherokee L."
