  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis G70 Reviews

As I don't use the built in navigation I'll just remove the sd card and use the HVAC home screen. Thanks for the info.

Do you guys actually use change your hvac settings that often? Personally I have it set at auto and the same temp 99% of the time. Very seldom I will move it up or down a notch or two. But I really don't care to see what it is set at as I just care that I am comfortable.

I did...especially in the winter. Once the car warms up...it’s too warm, etc. My wife constantly adjusts as well...both as a driver and a passenger.

I find the auto does a good job that I don't mess it it often. And I don't let me wife touch any buttons... just don't tell her I said that...

I find it’s REALLY loud, so I often turn the Auto feature off and control the fan manually.

You let your wife ride in your car?
I think my wife's been in my car less than 5 times total!

She's driven it twice...and she's been a passenger twice...LOL. My daughter is a passenger all the time....front seat.

Does the 2019 Genesis G70 3.3T have BMW M3 performance but LOW price?

This guy reviewed the 2.0 earlier and was pretty positive. Seems to really like the 3.3T.

Why does he make reference to an M3 when the Genesis is not a direct competitor obviously? It's in the 340i category and the new 3 will probably take the Gen by a hair..... we'll see.

I was confused on that too especially when he mentions the 3 series multiple times in the review as well. Probably just hoping for more clicks.

^ thanks. as goofy as those guys are, they are actually very thorough and have well-informed or educated takes.

obviously i like their overall impression of the 6MT Sport. they speak the truth.

interesting take on the 3.3T Sport vs the C43 or 340. they'd take the base version of those cars which are very close on price to the 3.3T since they are more interested in performance than features.

Yeah...and that is where I completely disagree with them. The C43 AMG is not better...other than sound. As for the M340i...the current model is slower and regarded as a worse car. The new one isn't even out yet. So they completely fubar'd that portion of the review up IMHO.

They drove the new 3 series in Portugal. Not sure which model.
I offered them my car for a 3 way with 2.0T AT but they decided not to take me up on it.

also the C43 amg starts at 55k msrp; for someone like me whose budget stopped at 45k...those are not even in the same ballpark unless I was cross shopping a CPO merc.

not everyone uses the logic of 'well ive already spent this much, whats another 5-10 grand?"

They're comparing top spec G70 to the MB. $57,500 for the Sport here.

^ in CAD, the C43/M340i apparently starts at $59k (according to them). the 3.3T Sport is $57.5k. so, $1500 difference. close enough. this is base of the C43 or M340i which is what they would take since they are more interested in performance than features. they both agreed that IF someone put emphasis on features then the G70 value cannot be ignored.

basically, they said if they were spending $57.5k on a 3.3T Sport, they'd rather just cough up $1500 more and get the base of the other cars. i know there's more than the $1500 purchase price at play, but that's what their take was. so take it or leave it i suppose.

they had a funny comment that the best approach would be to buy the G70 6MT Sport since it is a white unicorn, and then buy a used C43 in a few years once depreciated close enough to the ~$12k difference between the 6MT Sport and 3.3T Sport. not sure if i'd be wanting to buy a C43 well outside of warranty...

any way to retrofit a C43 exhaust onto a 3.3T Sport? that would be epic, 'cause the C43 sounds amazing. i don't know much about the new M340i (which is what the Straight Pipe guys have driven) other than some impressive performance numbers.

Which is why I disagree. Compare the same thing. If you want to compare the MB or the BMW...you have to load it up so it has the same features as the loaded G70. You simply cannot compare otherwise.
