  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis GV70 Reviews

At least they are replacing the engines. I'll be interested to read how well your GV70s hold up after 5+ years

Bah, don't keep my vehicles more than 4 years. My brand new 2009 Toyota Highlander Ltd was the worst PoS vehicle I owned in 38 years of car ownership. It lived in the service bay at the dealership. Every brand has their issues and lemons, and if you think Lexus and Toyota are immune, I have a really nice bridge to sell for really cheap that you may be interested in..

Oh, with only 8 posts and two of those trashing Genesis, me thinks you're a TROLL. Over and out.

Not a troll, I was a potential buyer but after visiting a local dealer I'm fisappointed. Lots of Hyundais and sleasy sales people, backed up service dept. Very different from what we experience at our Lexus dealer. On our 3rd RX. All have been great with no issues. Current one is a 2009 with over 100k miles. Still running perfect and looks like new. I'll visit another Genesis dealer further away to see if it's any better.

I actually was pushing my wife toward a Lexus, but she liked the GV70 over those and Acura. We knew the salesman pretty well so there were no negative issues. I will say that it was simply a good Hyundai experience and nothing more. I have bought three cars from that particular dealership because they actually are pretty good; way better than most Hyundai dealerships. Our dealer dropped the Genesis franchise unfortunately. The same owner (Mike Piazza) has another dealer where he kept the franchise and I am told they are building a separate Genesis store now. It is over an hour away so no pickup / no perks. My last inspection was at a local private shop we do business with. We had warranty work last year on the e-LSD (all over this forum) and they seem to have fixed the issue. The car is running perfectly now. My wife is happy which is what ultimately matters.

"Not a troll" yet you can't even be consistent with which cars and brands you pretend to own lol:

After 13 BMWs, 2 Audis and 1 Mercedes I'm going to give Genesis(Hyundai) a shot.
We will be sticking with Lexus. First class vehicles, first class dealerships, first class service.

All of our Lexus vehicles have been my wife's cars.
I find it humorous that on these forums people are so sensitive if someone has a different opinion about various brands. Pretty sad that some are so thin skinned. I never said Genesis was a bad brand I only said we are going to keep buying a Lexus as my wife's ride. I still like the German brands even though their reliability is not as good and maintenance is more expensive. I will now leave this forum to all you Genesis fanboys who can't stand anyone who has anything other than praise for Genesis.

Nice try. "Sticking to Lexus" means that you have owned only Lexus. But I guess since the posts are 4 years apart, you were hoping we would have short term memory. Since you made a big stink about reliability just a page back while having claimed to own 13 BMW's (lol) it's pretty hard to take you seriously.

You got outed as a troll because the only thing you came here to do on both occasions now and 4 years ago was trash the brand while espousing the superiority of other makes you pretend to own, while contributing nothing else of value in your commentary. Sorry, that impression hasn't changed. See you back again in 4 more years when you pretend to own another brand and troll again.

It is quite amazing the lengths that Lexus/Toyota fanboys will go to to either defend their purchase or bash other brands.

There are many, many posts of Genesis owners on this board that have said they have had no issues with their vehicle but, fanboys (trolls) will come on and bash Genesis (oh wait they call them Hyundai's. They don't however call Lexus Toyotas. Go figure). There are also many that have posted about getting poor service as well as good service from Hyundai dealerships. Same goes for standalone Genesis dealers. But good or bad, it doesn't matter to these people. They will simply state with no evidence that they are all bad. It's a Genesis or Hyundai so, it is not possible to get service. Plus look at the line of people waiting to get service done.

I have gone to the Lexus dealership to pick up my daughter who had an es350 F sport and shockingly there was a long line waiting to check in for service. I also brought my granddaughter's Toyota in for service and again, shockingly, there was a long line for service. Boy these dealers must have been running specials on wheel balancing because they couldn't possibly be in for service because someone has had 3 Lexus and never had any issues with any of them.

I also love the fact that the ones who bitch the most are usually ones who have never owned one. The old "I've heard" argument.

And I guess only Genesis owners are "thin skinned". Even though not just here but on other forums or comments in youtube videos if Lexus/Toyota owners talk about nightmares with their vehicles, just like above, Lexus/Toyota owners will say well I've had # (any number they feel like adding) of them and they have been perfect so therefore those complaining are a one off issue because their experience is not what everyone else's is even though they have zero proof other than well my vehicles have been perfect.

Sorry but maybe someone could explain to me what all these recalls are for?

Bottom line imo is all vehicle brands will have a percentage of sold ones that have issues. But don't tell that to Toyota or Lexus owners because those vehicles are perfect. The service departments are just for show I guess and aren't really necessary. The techs just sit around and play on their phones all day, that is, unless they are dealing with recalls.

Honestly don't think now is a good time for Toyota fanboys to be beating their chest about reliability.

I totally agree with you but, I would bet they still will.
