  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Loaners...This looks bad

Just push the button on the mirror as you drive to work and chat with them.

I too tried the app and web and was told by Genesis that it isn't ready. A bit annoying in the moment but calling them saved me a ton of headache.

is that what that little button does? o_O

I just used the Valet service for my first 6,000mi oil change. I called the Genesis connect from my car by hitting the button on the mirror. They got it all set up and then I heard from the dealer to confirm the service. They picked up my car from my house in the am and left me a band new G90 Executive Loaner car to drive to work. When the service was done, they drove all the way to downtown Phoenix to pick up the car and leave me mine. Everything worked out well with no problems at all. I enjoyed driving the G90 to work, a little more luxurious than sporty. I wish everyone had this same experience, it was great!!!

Good to hear when things work right.

After I got everything finalized it went smoothly. Only thing of note I can say is that the paperwork I signed to take the loaner said I had to return the car with the same amount of gas as dropped...so I topped it off.

My car came back with 1/4 tank less gas than I sent it with :cautious:

In effect that service wasn't free then. I would bring it up with the service manager. While not a major issue, it is one that generates a little dissatisfaction.

Since you let all of us know , I assume you let the dealer know and got credit for it. So no problem, right?

Hahaha. No I did not. I never even considered doing that. Next time I just won't top their car off and consider it an even trade.

I'm shopping for the G70 at the moment and I was wondering if this will be an issue for me. I have been looking at a few dealerships in the area and most of them seem a bit...unorganized is the word I guess. The valet service and complimentary maintenance were factored into my decision to purchase the G70. How can I find out what service in my area is like? Also, for those of you that came across issues with the valet service, are they offering no loner at all, or is it just not a comparable loner?

Park around the corner and pop your head into the service department and see if you can talk to someone about loaners and maintenance. If they ask, maybe tell em you are buying from another dealer but live nearby. I think you'll get a more straightforward answer than if you tell em you're looking to buy

I think that's a great idea, I'm definitely going to try that. I'm assuming they go to the closest dealership by distance first? We have a couple dealerships that are about the same distance from us so I would think they would go by which is closer, even slightly.

You can pick any dealer within a certain area. I believe its 50 miles or 1 hour driving according to Genesis corporate, but this may vary dealer to dealer based on how bullshit they are

The experience seems to differ (greatly) from dealership to dealership. If you're comfortable sharing your general location, folks here who live in the same area may be able to give you a clearer/more specific response.

I'm assuming the only down side to going further out is unnecessary mileage on the car? I'm thinking the one about 20 miles or so out for me is going to have the best service based on location. I'm still going to hit up the one near me first to see if the service department is a bit better than the sales department like you recommended and then go from there.

That seems to be the impression I'm getting as well. I don't mind, I'm in the Metro Atlanta area, right outside the perimeter.

If you do decide that the valet makes a difference the BEFORE you sign the deal, get a statement in writing that they will pick up your car at your home (include your address) and what car they will give you. This way there will (hopefully) be no surprises.

That's a very good idea. Honestly I didn't even know that is something I could do, but it would make me feel a lot better to have it in writing. I guess if I buy at the dealer that is further out I would just have to select that location for service rather than the ones closer to me, which would be ok.

Will find out when we bring the car to the dealer to fix some scratches on the car.

stay tuned!

Good luck with that. Been through that process myself

Agreed with those who said to talk with the GM. I did but the dealership I bough from stopped supporting this or their staff is poorly trained (my guess is the later really). If you have more than 1 in 50 miles (Genesis told me they will go further since they are having issues getting dealers to play nice, though) I wouldn't sweat it - one of them will want that business at the expense of the other.
