  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Loaners...This looks bad

Wow. This is like my former Mercedes Dealer.

Who is your Genesis Dealer?

As for upscale showrooms with food courts or diners inside, other than the Mercedes Dealer in South Orlando which has a Restaurant inside, there is a HONDA Dealer in Ocala that has a small indoor restaurant. Not sure but I think the Toyota Dealer in Colonial Drive, Orlando, has (had) a small food area inside.

Restaurants inside Dealerships is nothing new. When I lived in Rochester NY, about 30 or 35 years ago, Ralph Pontiac on Henrietta Road had a great restaurant indoors. Dealership as well as Pontiac, long gone.

Had my first scheduled maintenance event a few weeks back. I booked it through the app, and received text updates several times leading up to the agreed upon time. They arrived promptly to my home and took my G70 and left me a loaner (a Hyundai SUV, not ideal but fine with me) then the service guy called me when the car arrived to confirm there weren't any other issues that needed attention. I also received text notification that the car had arrived. When completed, the service guy called again to let me know it was done and to confirm what time I wanted to receive my car. Then I received text notifications letting me know when my car was on its way and when they were approaching. My car arrived washed and vacuumed and they took back their loaner.

This was a pleasant experience all around. Happy that I'm one of the lucky ones.
One of the few, congrats.

I've never seen a dealership with restaurants let alone food of any kind.

I'd settle for a nice, clean facility with staff that treats customers with respect and courtesy and not like a red headed step child.

Stand alone dealerships would also appeal to some other luxury buyers because they would be sharing space with similar customers who own the same brand vehicles. Not to sound snobby, but around other luxury car class owners.

You have to find better dealers. When we had the company pickup serviced I'd meet my maintenance guy at the dealer and we'd have breakfast there when he dropped the truck off and I'd give him a ride to the shop. Imperial cars had three dealerships in a row, Ford, Chevy, Chrysler.
I've bought from 3 different dealers in the past 15 years and all had at a minimum coffee and snacks in a clean waiting area. One had a separate room where you can put your laptop on a counter to work.

Island Jaguar / Land Rover / Lincoln dealership in Merritt Island (Florida Space Coast/ Cocoa) has restaurant, lounge, theater, fitness center, kids' playroom, barbershop, and more. Island Club

Plus they have valet/concierge service for their new car customers. Wonder why I hang onto my Jag?

Instead of taking the kids to Disney for a week just get an oil change.

I purchased my 2017 Continental at Island. NOT PLEASED WITH THIS DEALER. Had a terrible time dealing with them. Concierge service was TERRIBLE. Had my name spelled wrong on paperwork and had to jump through hoops to get corrected. Had trouble buying with Ford/Lincoln “X” Plan. They did nothing for me after the sale. I did really don’t remember a restaurant or snack bar or any of the other stuff there. There may have been, but I was so angry, I may have blocked it from memory.

BTW. That Continental was a POS.
Got rid of it pronto. Genesis is a much better car.

I've mentioned Sewell of Dallas a few times, they have nice showrooms and often snacks like hot chocolate and cookies. I always left there feeling special. Showroom has marble, dark woods, high ceilings, leather, and a lot of glass. They know how to do it "up". Would love to see them add the Genesis line. They sell several brands, including Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Infiniti, Lexus, Mercedes, and a few non-premium brand, and are in Dallas, Ft. Worth, Houston, and San Antonio.

This is the driveway where I used to drop off my Infiniti.

Certainly not my experience, over the past ten years or so. Perhaps the Lincoln side of the house is differently managed.
All those fancy amenities are upstairs. The elevator is near the LR area; you must not have noticed. Sales or Service should have mentioned them to you.

Every so often, I get a Form Letter from them, (including today) offering a great price, etc etc etc.
Although I don’t tell them to go Fxxx yourself, I just put the letter (and Birthday Cards) in the “Circular File”.

I’m not saying that Genesis dealers are better or worse. What I am saying is that one Lincoln/Jaguar/Land Rover Dealer SUCKS.

My favorite Hyundai “selling” dealer also sells Genesis but I would not get a Genesis or my two Sonatas serviced there. (I purchased both my Sonatas there).

My favorite Hyundai “Servicing” Dealer who also sells Genesis has now been taken over by a large mega company and their service is now in the toilet compared to years past. (I purchased my Genesis from this dealer years ago).

I’ve never used my closest Hyundai/Genesis Dealer for anything. They think they are doing you a favor by selling you a car.
Also can’t see in the Service Department. Car goes behind a wall and you never see it again.

Some promising news. As much as I hated to, I pulled my custom wheels off and took the car to my local dealership. The same one who out the wrong oil in the car and refused me a loaner.

My car has a short in the circuit that powers the infotainment, mirror, homelink, and apparently the headlights.

Anyway, again they asked me if I was dropping off or waiting. I told them I would take their shuttle but then I asked if they still werent doing loaners. Service guy said, "oh wait, Genesis owner... right this way, sorry about that." I said, it's no problem I'm in a hurry, I'll just take the shuttle. He said, "No, no, you're a Genesis customer, I have the keys right here." Gave me a 3.3T Prestige. Said to keep it as long as I need it.

Well, maybe they're finally getting their sht together. Fingers crossed. I've had it for a week now because it turns out it is a short in my passenger headlight circuit card and they had to order a new one from Korea of course. Supply chain still struggling. Oh well, at least I have a loaner.

Based on some conversations I had with a local dealer in the last week, it seems that Genesis is actually trying to achieve the level of white glove customer service they had promised. My confidence in the brand is returning slowly
