  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Model Type
Genesis G70
I own a 2019 Genesis G70. I know about the Remote Start feature that it has. But I am not sure whether I can schedule the remote start or not? For example, I leave daily for my office at 7 in the morning, so is there a way that I can schedule the car to start automatically at 7 rather than I have do it myself every morning?

Don't think that's possible. If you have an Android phone you can use the widget. 5 taps is all you need to send the start request ("Start" + your 4 digit PIN).

How do you remote start a G70 anyway? Never tried it yet. Do you need to use the app on your phone or is it through the key?

Firstly, the remote start service will be complimentary for first 3 years, and after that you need to pay for it. So if you are subscribed to the service, you can remote start it through the app on your phone, it even supports apple watch, so you can start from the watch as well. The remote start cannot be done using the key.

It must be confirmed by your sales dealer before it is available.

One thing I hate about my Sonata and the Genesis, is that I can’t Remote Start using my key fob. Must use the app with a smart phone. I have no interest in Remote starting from across town, across the country or across the world. Only interested in Remote starting while in my driveway or across the mall parking lot.

My other car, (plus other former cars) allows me to Remote Start using my Key Fob. Works for me.

Only way to do that is to have an aftermarket remote installed and use the fob that comes with it. If I keep this car after 3 years I may do that.

Did it check to see if the door were locked?

If using the widget, can you fine tune the start up process as like in the app? For instance, running for 5 minutes at 72 degrees?

I have not found a way, and the widget does not seem to revert back to the last settings used in the app. It simply just starts the car and in my scenario, shut off in 1 minute, which stinks as obviously not enough time to have it cool down/heat up the cabin as needed.

That does not sound right. Mine defaults to 10 minutes. Same on last Genesis and Sonata.

I haven't tried it, but you may be able to set up an Alexa routine. I know I can use Alexa to start the car so you should be able to set up a routine to perform the startup at the same time everyday. The only issue is the required pin.

As far as I can recall, it uses my last applied settings from the app and stays on for however long I set it for. I'll test it again this evening to confirm.

Edit: Just saw EdP's response and I agree. The settings I used last was for 10 minutes -- didn't realize that was the default.

I've had a similar experience, but it starts the defrosters too for whatever reason, so it doesn't circulate the air in the car

Check the setting in your app. Defrost seems to get set by default when you install it. Just uncheck it and it will stay unchecked - no defrost.

Does the Canadian app not have a widget? Can't seem to find it

It was/has been unchecked before I started using the home screen widget. For whatever reason, starting from the widget consistently gives me that result. I'll test it again today and report back

Couple other car heads...have done it by getting a key fob from a year that offers it. And programing the key fob to the car. The Keyfob has the remote start button and it starts the car.

Its the accord. There's a higher model that comes with the Keyfob remote button. But the hardware/software is the accord. So they get the higher model and program it to the lower model and it works.

I have links but idk if it will post. Even works on last year's at least on Honda. Which makes me wonder if I get a 2022 fob with remote start and program the fob to my 2019...if it will work since it's all software
