  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Sedan 19" Wheels

It seems like a mistake getting wider wheels in the back. For one thing, you can't rotate the tires as they wear.

Yup, I've changed my mind knowing that they are not all equal widths.:D Thanks:)

Just to let everyone know, my front is 20x9 +29 and it fits just fine. I still have plenty of clearance. So 19x8.5 +35 is very mild in comparison

That's not the only consideration though. The offset has some to do with the brake caliper clearance, but it has more to do with fitting between the fender and suspension without rubbing or hitting. Your brake caliper clearance has more to do with wheel spoke design. You'll find 17" wheels with a +35 offset that specifically state - "Designed to clear Brembo Brakes". The 19's fit perfectly fine on the rear because of the smaller caliper size.

That said, the front and rear wheels/tires are the same size - stock. But you can fit more wheel/tire in the back because of where the suspension is. Staggered fitments are a personal preference thing. They give it a real nice look since (depending on wheel design) it gives it a deep lip. Functionally also, you'll have a larger contact area for the power. However, my favorite is seeing some fat tires in the rear profile. Your negative is...at best you'll be able to rotate between the driver's and passenger's side unless you buy directional tires. Then there's absolutely no rotating without removing the tire physically. Like anything aftermarket, it's a personal preference thing.

How did you black out the chrome, did you just use regular limo tent 5% or did you paint it.

If you're referring to me, I painted the chrome pieces.

Regarding

" There is a spacer required to do so up front "

What size spacer and where could one acquire this spacer?

Thanks!

@motorsportsauthority - I'm going to put the coupe wheels on my sedan, similar to what you did on your black Genesis. You mentioned that you put spacers on the front to clear the brakes, what size spacer? And do you have a recommendation on where to get the spacers? Thanks!
