  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Check this international site out and all the options that we here in the states can't get. http://worldwide.hyundai.com/WW/Showroom/Cars/Genesis/PIP/index.html

Cool link. The mass customization of the European cars is one of the factors that drives up those prices. It does cost a ton to offer as many choices as you can get in a BMW, Mercedes, or Audi. My old car had something crazy like more than a dozen exterior color options, seven or eight interior colors with two classes of leather, three different seat options, and then crazy package and individual feature permutations.

What stuff did you spot that you wished we had? These are the things I spotted that I wish I had:
  • Power trunk lid (the harsh close kind of annoys me)
  • Cooling in both front seats
  • Mood lighting
  • Automatic dimming exterior mirrors
  • Rear armrest controls

We already have rear view dimming mirrors, interior & exterior.
And I have seat heater controls in rear armrest.
( Canada ):)

Didn't look long, but I didn't see the 5.0. Instead the 4.6 was offered. Was the site for the 2011 model year?

I like the seats which are like the Equus seats in the center each.

Really, our side view mirrors are auto dimming? That is cool. I guess is should have paid more attention to the promotional stuff.

I have the rear seat heater controls, but the rear controls in that link are far more extensive.

^What Gunkk said. The mirrors turn on only with the rear defrost on.

EDIT - just realized auto dimming was mentioned and not the heated mirrors. But now ya know:) Love the auto dimming mirrors BTW.

Interesting that they got the 8 speed with the 4.6. I do like the rear seat radio, seat, and shade controls....though my kids would probably be messing with it all WAY TOO MUCH...especially with the wife sitting shotgun.

i dont suppose anyone has looked into retrofitting the front camera into our sedans? does anyone know a parts guy or tech who may be able to look into what parts or coding may be needed to to get the camera working in our cars?

I'd bet there's more to the integration of a front camera system than just the harware and wiring. There's likely some additional software required perhaps not included on stateside models.

I wonder about the cost of retrofitting the power trunk lid system. Seems that may just require a additional motor and logic board, and maybe a swap of the torsion rods and hinge(s) for US sedans. Probably too much, for the additional "Gee-Whiz" it might provide.

Haven't tried it, haven't read anybody actually testing it either... but:
According to the factory service manuals available from www.hmaservice.com the Tech package head units do have a "front camera" input and a variable in the Engineering Menu that specifies if the camera is present or not. Based on that, I'd guess the wiring/cable, the camera, and a new front grill to hold the camera, ought to be all that is required.

The head units also have a "rear LCD" output - like you'd find in the Equus vehicles - so it might be possible to have DVD playback while driving for rear seat passengers. Need the LCD and cable I imagine.

My 2012 3.8 has the Auto-Dimming side mirror feature. Not sure I like it as it makes it really hard to judge distance and speed of approaching traffic.

I'd really like the rear switch panel in place of the cupholders - even if it is just for the Rear Window Sunshade and Rear Seat Heaters - although I'm not sure losing the cupholders is such a good idea. The way the seat heater switches are located now, most passengers activate them unintentionally just by resting their arm on the armrest. They would be far better if they were on the door by the window switches.
