Genesis Sedan coilover : help !!

because i called a local shop here ( montreal / canada ) and they claimed that they can get coilover for the genesis SEDAN from Ksport....:mad::mad::mad:

I still don't get the whole K-Sport thing myself. They claim to have it and then send me Coupe coilovers stating that they will fit only to tell me later they won't. Then they say the make the sedan version but then ask me to send photos so they can see how my current coilovers are mounted. This just doesn't make sense and I'm going to go and cancel the build and get my money back.

Got an email from BC Racing today that said they are still in Development and Testing and hopefully will have something soon. As @motorsportsauthority mentioned, hopefully he can get together with them to get it sorted out.

I also just talked to ARK Performance again today and it looks like they are going to help me with getting my current coilovers rebuilt. This is fine with me for now as I'm just looking to get my ride back in shape.

Will update later if I get any other info.
 
I talked with " jay " from seoul ful racing, he told me that NEOTECH produce coilover for the genesis sedan...

im waiting for him for the price ...

but they seems very different from a bc coilover or " k-sport "

no pillow ball mount ! :S...

and the cheaper one is not " complete "

so we cant adjust the camber ..
 
I would be concerned that these are actually for the sedan. They have two categories "Genesis 2008-2011" and "Genesis Coupe" but I've seen this type of thing before where the coilovers listed are actually just for the coupe.

My ARKs did not come with pillow ball mounts. Again I see these on the coupe coilovers. Even the picture on the ARK website for the sedan has a picture of the coupe coilovers with pillow balls instead.

I too contacted Jay at Seoulful Racing yesterday and was waiting for an update. He originally told me that the Neotechs were very good and well known in Korea. I think that several makers of coilovers actually share the same parent company from what I've heard.

At the moment, I have the choice to either rebuild my ARKs or wait for K-Sport to custom build me a set which they said they were doing or try and find something else such as the Neotechs.

These HSD's were also listed on the Korean Auto Imports site for the sedan:

I had ordered a set of HSD's earlier which were the ugly green color that you typically see with them. Unfortunately as I mentioned earlier in this thread, I didn't ever receive them.

It's very strange for HSD coilover on korean auto import ....
did you ordered your hsd on this web site ?


ps : i'm waiting an answer from KSPEC for the genesis sedan coilover ( sma )


and : your ark did not had top mount pillow ball ? you used your oem one ?

I agree. It's very misleading. I have ordered 3 different sets of coilovers just to find out that they don't exist. They are typically still being developed but yet they still offer then for sale.

There is no OEM pillow ball mount, at least for the sedan. I don't know about the coupe. The standard shock mount was used and the camber is not adjustable. Hopefully any new coilovers for the sedan will have pillow ball mounts.

Interesting. It is Eric at K-Sport that contacted me about making some coilovers for my car because they sent me the coupe version and told me they would fit. Last I heard, he wanted me to send pictures of my existing coilovers so they could figure out how the mounts look. His message above says they will be available for purchase in 4 weeks but he has not contacted me to tell me this. Let's hope it's true.

Okay @motorsportsauthority, as Princess Leia said to Obi Wan Kenobi "you're our only hope". BC Racing seems to be the only quality manufacturer out there that can put an end to the madness that this coilover dilemma has caused.

Hopefully you and BC can arrange to get together and figure out what needs to be done. How are the prototypes that you are currently running? What's the actual issue that they are having?

1st post but I have been lurking for over a year. Same story as you JASTYLR....

about a year ago I order a set of ARK coilovers. They kept saying it would come in a month. And each month past and still no coilovers. This went on for about almost a year. I said enough was enough and got my money back.

At that time I saw that Ksport had coilovers for the Genesis and ordered those. I waited 3 weeks and they sent me the coupe coilovers instead. After talking to them they wanted pictures of my suspension. Now I'm just waiting.

Funny thing is that I called asking about the coilovers (as a new customer) and they said the coilovers are in R&D and not ready for sale. He said they are waiting on feed back before they sell them. Looks like we are going to be the testers.

I'm lost of words right now. How do we not have any options to lower are damn cars... This is a joke... I have some nice 20's ready to be put on my car for the year.

I have contacted Jun Lee who is the international sales manager of Neotech, from the mail he said they have made the coilover for genesis sedan , quote as below:
