If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Smart Key Card

I would find the part number and google it.

looks like they are all in Korea. If anyone knows of a USA seller, please let me know.

Otherwise I may break down and pay for the expedited shipping from Korea (need to confirm with one of the dealerships that they'll program it for me though - Im less concerned about having the key cut)

You could try calling a dealer in Canada as this is standard equipment on the V8 up here. They must have spare parts in case someone loses theirs.

Has anyone in TEXAS been able to find a locksmith that is able to cut the Smart key Cards-key to be able to use it to open the glove box?

I found a locksmith in Georgetown who can cut the key in the keyfob. i assume that they can cut the card key, but I am not sure. The screwed up 1 key, but got another blank and fixed it.

You replied to an earlier post where a locksmith near Dallas is mentioned. I had mine done at the same location.

I must have missed that post. In any case i will PM you to get the info. Thanks

Sure, try Michael's Keys Inc in Colleyville (817) 581-8992

So has anyone tried this with another hyundai model? was thinking might be nice on the wife's sante fe.

Re: Gensis Smart Key Card

When leaving your keys with a parking lot attendant or valet, perform steps 1 to 4 above, remove the mechanical key from the smart key and leave the smart key with the attendant. In this manner the smart key can only be used to start the engine and operate door locks.
Problem is that makes it hard for the attendant to attach any kind of id to the key via a string, etc (at least on the regular key fob). The few times that I have been offered free valet parking, I just declined and asked to park it myself.

Vanzobee where did you purchase the smart card from

on ebay. they probably all the same so dont just buy the most expansive one and expect u getting better product. i got it from this guy http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genesis-Sed...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 for $280 and it came in 4 days but now he selling the exact key for over $300+ just because he doesn't have much left. while u can see other selling the same thing for less than $200. just get US sellers and u should be good if u dont want to wait. they all made in korea, its just price for logistics.

got it from ebay, for $280 from a US seller, the same seller is selling it over $300 now so dont be tricked, just buy it from somebody else in the US that sells the samething for $200 or less and read to make sure u get 30 days return policy with it. and brand new unprogrammed.

I have the credit card key for my 2018 g80 sport. I live in southern california. Looks exactly the same as the one above. Bought it from dealer

I'm in Charlotte as well, so you bought the Keycard from ebay and brought it to South Charlotte Hyundai? Did the dealer cut the mechanical key for you as well?

I have a 2018 Genesis G80 3.8 Standard and live in Charlotte NC. I bought my card key (PN# B1064 ADU01) from vanillabusiness on eBay for $219. He is a US seller so it arrived in 2 days. I took the card key and both my existing key fobs to Modern Hyundai of Concord (my dealer). Make sure you take them all because they all must be reprogramed. My dealer had never programed a card key for the G80, but said he would give it a try. It only took about 10 minutes and it worked! They charged me $55 labor. I also had them order the mechanical key (PN# 81996 B1010) for $12. Cutting the blank was supposed to be another $40. Unfortunately, after about 20mins of effort I was told their key machine is unable to laser cut the key. They are now ordering a precut mechanical key from Genesis. It should arrive in a few days. Make sure when you order the mechanical key you order it PRECUT. Evidently, Genesis can cut the key PRIOR to shipping using your VIN number. The dealers cannot cut this particular key blank because it is thinner than the standard mechanical key in the larger key fob. The precut key will cost about $40 - $50. Hope this helps someone. It sure is nice not having to carry the key fob anymore! That thing is huge!

Did you get your precut key yet? And if so what was the final cost?
