  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Must be a new feature that I have not bothered to look into as it used to be that you couldn't find your car unless you were within a mile of it.

Humorous, but about 9 total seconds on the actual car out of 60 seconds, in 8-9 separate quick cuts. Not sure anyone will remember the car, which is a really just a prop in a funny sketch.

^ Yup. My thoughts exactly.

Odd they wouldn't use the SB spot to intro the G90 or hint at the G80 with all the recent changes Hyundai/Genesis has undergone

Many SB spots are one time glamour shots to reinforce a brand. These require less direct brand selling and more on solidifying an image.

The Genesis is still a relatively unknown brand under another well known brand (Hyundai) which is not synonymous with the target Genesis market. On top of that, it is about to become its own brand, which will require an extensive image introduction. The SB may have been a good time to tease the new Genesis division with an Apple Mac type ad which is meant to grab viewers and get free replays by the media. This ad does little to move the needle for either division and seems mostly a generic Hyundai ad that could have had features on any of their cars and will likely have little or no brand retention.

Anybody else notice no front sensor on the 5.0 and that the fine print said 2016 Genesis 5.0 Ultimate?

exactly - you still need to be within 1 mile so the commercial is misleading. Strange it is only 1 mile though, as Find Friends on iPhone works for at least hundreds of miles (know this as my wife used it to track our daughter driving back to college solo for the first time).

Commercial is underwhelming......and what makes it special for the car? How many people actually use the smart watches, as shown.

IMHO, think that they should have focused on showing "coming out" of the closet with a fabulous, high quality car; or if cars were people at a party (show a german as a powerful BMW, a svelte Merc, an a dependable type Lexus, etc), and a ultra-cool/suave couple walks in as the new entrants (and everybody starts talking about how cool they seem, and trying to guess who they are, being jealous of them...and then are blown away that they are the Genesis from "hmmm...that hyundai"). Anyway....my 2 cents...

What a huge waste of money............This commercial does nothing to impress people to look at the Genesis as a next purchase.
I wonder if Corporate people in Korea ever look at the type of advertising done for the USA market ????

It will be a hit. No one knows what the car is so people will google it non stop!

Except they only say the name of the car once and the name actually never appears on screen. Even at the end, it's missing.

Plus, why promote the HYUNDAI Genesis when you are creating a separate brand to separate from the Hyundai "stigma". This makes no sense and is just bad marketing given they've already announced Genesis Motors. Dumb move (and lame commercial, besides)!

I get it doesn't show the features and barely shows the car but I thought it was still a funny commercial...it's more product placing then straight up commercial. Remember hyundai is one of nfl's sponsors so they are not just showing off genesis they are just doing a general hyundai commercial using our g2's as a model which is currently their best looking car.

I though the commercial was rather stupid. All this to show if you have an Apple watch you can locate the car? Wippydoo. Heck most cars today with some sort of On-Star/Bluelink system will do this, even the economy cars. In fact any car can do this if you add an after market device for a few hundred dollars. Nothing about the car in the entire commercial either, sorry but millions wasted IMHO.

I could ha done a better commercial than that. Cute but no one will even remember that car. Also thought the Genesis will move over to G80. Gonna confuse the masses.

I liked it! It was funny and relatable. The few shots of the Genesis that they got in were beautiful. It's the Super Bowl and they know people are there to enjoy the commercials. why so serious lol?
