  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis Wing Logo Steering emblem is finally out.. Check it out!

I put the wheel emblem on this afternoon. Doesn't look too bad. Obviously the air bag replacement solution looks better, but I'm only going to have my Genesis for 27 months (lease), so it's kind of hard to justify the $250.

So now I have the trunk emblem, the 18" wheel caps and the steering wheel emblem, all purchased from KDMguy - he shipped out the same day I ordered. You can see all my pics in my photo album. Here's what the steering emblem looks like - it doesn't really protrude much at all.

meh...trying to make it look like a Bentley.

thats what i was thinking... but hey if they are starting with the aftermarket then that means it will be a better market for the Coupe when IT comes out...

yeah....a bunch of converts of there...ROFL

I got mine on Friday but it was pretty banged up. I didn't think that they were so thin that just going through the mail they'd end up all bent and looking like crap.

Can you get a replacement or refund?

Bpajax: I think it looks great! I already have the "Wing" emblem on the trunk and the 18" hubcabs, and now after seeing the steering wheel oval wing emblem, I am going to treat myself and my Genesis to it.

Thank you for posting the photos.

I'm liking that wing emblem! The price is right. Now, just need to buy a Genesis. :)

that emblem looks cheap and doesnt look right on the airbag. Hope they come out with a better alternative
There is a better alternative, which is replace the entire airbag assembly at a cost of about $275 plus dealer installation.

I put mine on yesterday, real hard, with much concentration and effort, it took almost 58 seconds. It is a matter of personal choice, as well as wallet. C'mon guys, it's a Genesis. We are the ones who know what's what. It's the Car of the Year. If you can afford the airbag, do it. It looks great, covers the H, and just sits there. ENJOY YOUR GENESIS, AND QUIT MAKING A MOUNTAIN OUT OF A MOLE HILL.

hope it doesnt become a projectile headed straight for your head if the airbag ever deploys:(

Does it ever occurs to you doubters that maybe the airbag puncture through the cover bellow the logo/badge area? I'm sure hyundai and many other car makers have the badge/logo on the steeing wheel stock. I'm sure they all tested fine. Even if it becomes a projectile, it will not flight straight to your face, more like toward the top of the windshield area.

Put mine on yesterday, but like an earlier poster who did it in 58 seconds, it took me 65 because I didn't get it on 'perfectly' straight the first time. Had it come on the car when I bought it and look as it looks now, I wouldn't have given it a second thought. I'm not embarrassed in the slightest to be driving a Hyundai product, but I'm removing (or covering up) all the Flying H emblems and badges just to confuse the onlookers, of which there are many. Center wheel caps should be here in a few days, and I just finished removing the Flying H on the trunk lid and replacing it with the Wing badge that arrived yesterday. That was a piece of cake that only required a little patience warming the old badge with a heat gun (hair dryer would work as well) to soften the sticky tape holding it in place, some liberal use of dental floss, then warming the residue a second time with the heat gun and rolling it off the lid with my finger as if it was rubber cement. As for the possible activation of the airbag sending the plastic steering wheel emblem into my face, the worse that could happen is that I'll have the Wing emblem permanently embedded in my forehead. I love this car so much that the question then becomes, "Would that be so bad?"
