  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

In the IHS Markit's Automotive Loyalty Awards (based on 12.4 million new retail vehicle registrations in the U.S. in 2020), Genesis wins the Highest Conversion of Conquests to Loyalists Award. See article for full list.

G90 also wins for its segment.

I don't mean to sound ignorant, but what exactly is "Highest Conversion of Conquests to Loyalists", anyway? I'm thinking it's maybe those who were converted to Genesis from another (luxury) brand ended up buying another Genesis. Am I right? (Ironically, that would be me, I traded a BMW for a G70 and traded the G70 for a GV80.)

Yes, that sounds correct.
Bought various brands since 1962, mostly GM. Last GM car was falling apart in my driveway so bought a Hyundai. Now on #5 of Hyundai/Genesis brand. #6 probably will be too.

Ah, but those ‘60s (and some ‘70s) GM cars were (are) classics. One of the best cars I owned was a ‘78 Olds Cutlass Calais (first year for their downsize). Even had a 5 speed manual, although horrible. Couldn’t get that in a Gran Prix! Cutlass went 120K miles before I sold it.

As an aside, the worse car I ever owned was a ‘73 Subaru. Swore I would never buy another one....and haven’t. It still gives me nightmares.

...and the worst car I ever owned was the original Hyundai Excel. After dumping it early I swore I would never buy another Hyundai product, but here I am looking at either a GV70 or GV80 when the lease on my Lincoln is up later this year. Hyundai has come a long way in reliability, performance and style since they were nearly hounded out of the U.S. market due to their extensive problems with the Excel.

....and Subaru has come a long way since 1973. Ironically, my roommate bought a Subaru a week after me and never had an ounce of problems with it, he got over 100K out of it and stuck with Subaru for many years. Go figure.
