Well, I finally decided to change the wheels on the genesis. The wheels are TSW Snetterton, and are 20X10 in the rear and 20X8.5 in the front. Here are some quick pics that I took.

I did the change a couple of weeks ago, funnily enough the car feels better to me. It is definately slightly rougher ride wise, but not very much.

Hope someone else likes these as well....

Very nice.. Nice choice in wheels..

Very nice selection.

Can you post full specs on the tires and wheels, including offset?

That's the hypersilver wheel finish on a Titanium/Black Genny?

cheers.

Tripod,
The ride is firmer, but not too bad. I came from a 2006 Subaru Legacy Spec B with lowering springs, so obviously anything would be softer than it. But I was surprised how it still absorbs the bumps quite well. The main part where I was surprised is on those turns onto shopping centers where the entrance to their lots are actually a bump like you might find on some driveways, the car takes it in stride and did not jounce as i thought it would have (like in my old car). While running you do feel more of the road, but to me it feels more connected in a way. And like I mentioned the drive and ride of the car with these wheels actually feels better to me than stock.

In addition, the car can take corners quite briskly now, it just has grip and grip.

Crepen,
The wheels are 20x10 with +40 offset in the rear, and 20x8.5 with +40 offset in the front. They are the Hypersilver with the mirror lip, which in my opinion goes well with the platinum silver paint of the car (black interior). I needed all weather functionality from the tires (I understand that it will not be ideal by any means) so my choice was the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. They are 275/35ZR20 in the rear and 245/40ZR20 in the front. We had some light snow (about one inch on the ground), and the car performed really well with these tires. Which is what I wanted from the tires to begin with.

Nice pics...nice wheels...nice artwork on the concrete!

If it's not too personal, how much do you have invested in the tires/wheels set?

Dan :>)

Great choice... makes the car look edgier and definitely more sporting.

Congrats!

Are your wheels flushed with the fenders? I'm about to pick up a nice set of VIP JDM wheels for the genesis, that hasn't even arrived yet. The offsets are kind of agressive though, 20x8.5 +22 20x10.5 +27. I'm going to lower the car so the wheels should cambered in a little.

OMG!! The tires are way to skinny for the wheels! Not only does this look wacky, but the wheels would get scratched so much easier.

I hope you're looking into wider tires.......................JMO

Toidgen: Congrats! They look awasome! It makes the already gorgeous Genesis look mean and agressive without loosing its' classy look.

Toidgen,
Nicest set of wheels for the Genesis that I have seen yet!!!
Good luck!

Mr2Envi,
The tires are pretty much flush in the rear with the fender, there is clearance, but not too much wiggle room. The front is tucked in a little as the wheels and tires are less wide.

I really do not know that this offset will work, and unfortunately do not know what lowering will do for them.

Thanks, from your information, I could go with smaller offsets for 8.5 wide in the front then. For the rear I'll go with lower offsets too so the wheel stick out alittle bit more at stock height. When I lower the car, the top of the tire should tuck under the fender as the rear wheels cambered inward at the top

Beautiful! :D

I love mesh wheels.

Looks great....I just got a 2010 4.6 and planning on putting the Snetterton's on as well, but this is the first time I've put aftermarket rims on a sedan like this. I want to put the staggered set up on as well to give the rear wheels a little beefer stance, cut concerned about going from stock 18's to 20's and if that will cause the tires to rub in the wheel wells and/or reduce the turning radius. I do not plan on lowering the car or anything, just want to class up the car and give it a custom look. Want to retain as much of the smooth ride as possible, but realize going with the low profile tires will affect that.

I'm a novice at this, so advice on offsets, etc.... is appreciated.

You really nailed it with the Snettertons and the size tires you chose. That car has a killer stance. How do the 35 aspect ratio rear tires feel going over bumps? As to the other wheels. The 20x8.5 +22 will stick out slightly less than 3/4" further than the Snettertons(1 3/16" farther out than stock) and the rear will protrude slightly more than 3/4" farther out(2 3/16" farther than stock). Judging from the picture I don't think they will fit properly. For the 10.5" rears you will need at least a 285 cross section to prevent driving on the sidewalls as pictured on the Lexus, a very unsafe condition. That will also compound the fitment issue. I would test fit the wheels without tires first so to avoid damage and check all clearances. You generally can't return wheels once you mount tires on them. This will widen the track about 1.5" front and rear over the Snettertons and considerably more over stock, and will produce more negative camber due to the fact that reduced offset will act to increase leverage on the unsprung parts of the suspension. If there are problems in the front they will manifest themselves as a tire rub with the outside of the tire rubbing at full steering lock and fender rub at full compression. At the rear the fender lips will almost surely rub with small compression. When I had the GTO we could roll the fender lips up to gain that clearance but the Genesis has no flange to roll so what you see is what you got. In all cases good luck, I hope it works out for you.

Those are the wheels I have in mind for my Satin White Pearl. But that won't happen until I move from Oregon!!

Love the wheels...I was looking at this same model but ended up going with the Vossen VVS083's instead. Same setup size wise on mine with 8.5 front and 10 in the rear. I think the ride is a little bit rougher but I love the feel of the road a lot more with them on. Great choice!!
