  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Genesis's Inside can't handle the Lexicon System

Have a 2010 4.6 tech Genny and no rattles at all from the car but can get somd from the speakers time to time with base full up and volume at 3/4. If you didnt know, Lexicon is used in Rolls Royce and therefore in IMO the radio systems weren't optimzed for heavy base and rock. A lot of people rave about this system but I think it is "ok" as there is to much Mid and Trebble no matter how you adjust it. If tou are blairing the standard radio that I think will answer the question.
For the Lexicon system check out the difference in sound quality by putting on classical music and I bet you hear a whole diffent experience than you get from rock. Classical is when this system comes alive but unfortunetly its not what I listen too except for once in a blue moon

Totally agree with SRF11. I have the exact issues. It's annoying but what can you do. 40k car with 429hp. Guess ill live with a couple rattles on certain songs.

Isn't there a TSB for this? Also maybe try to dynomat some of the panels.

I have the doors, back deck and behind the rear seats all DynaMat'd and only on occasion now does the rear deck vibrate (actually it's not the deck so much as it is the rear window blind, even in the down position). The shade needs to be moved further away from the speakers so the rear sub's don't make it vibrate. I guess the alternative there would be to remove the shade, but personally that is a feature I like a lot here during the summer's in Florida.

I highly suggest to anyone who enjoys the audio in this car to take the time to DynaMat it. Is it the perfect fix, no...but it seems to make the sounds crisper overall and gets rid of a lot of the vibrations.

On a side note, why is the sound system on the 2013's (tech/premium) on such a higher volume scale then the 2009-11's? The system really needs to be cranked up a lot higher it seems to acheive the same volume levels. 21 in my 2010 is considerably louder than the same settings in the 2013.

But these go to eleven!

I've noticed that "rock" music doesn't have the normal heavy bass you find with other stereos but if you play almost anything hip-hop (or, gawd forbid, rap) you'll get all the bass you want (with setting unchanged). It just seems to be the way the stereo interprets the music. I have also noticed a difference between the same song as an mp3 and as uncompressed. The uncompressed bass is definitely heavier.

I agree with landtuna's assessment.
