  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello all, I am a new Genesis owner and this will be my build thread. If it's in the wrong area please let me know. I was an Audi guy for a long time, and it seems like I'm in familiar territory here. I purchased a 2016 Santiago silver gen on 3/31/16. It's AWD as I live in the Midwest and chase the snow. I did the rear badge and window tints last week. I am currently out of town for work, and the Internet is getting the best of me. I had this exchange with my lovely wife this evening (don't mind the pg13 stuff)

I ordered springs from Ark(for now) and am waiting for the ok from the boss on wheels.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Dude. Seriously? Your Genny looks fantastic as is. Those bigger wheels...um...I sort of hope the boss has other ideas. ;)

[On soapbox] Putting that same amount of money in your 401(k) or kids' college fund might not seem sexy, but you'll have choices later that you wouldn't otherwise have. Been there, done that, bought the T-shirt. [Off soapbox]

It's your car and your moola, enjoy!

Nice! Congrats on the car man and you're going to love the Ark springs! I have the springs on my Genesis 5.0 and it attracts attention. Especially with the Genesis wings in the back, people think it's some kind of exotic :D

I'm only looking for 20x9ish wheels. The Genesis is a beautiful car as is yes. I have 3 kids, and I completely understand saving for college/later in life. My children are not good at sports or pretty/talented 😕☘ lol.

Welcome another Chicagolander (sorta :D)

I have a friend who lives in Huntley...I might go up there in couple of weeks, for little photo shoot of his '16 Aventador roadster SV and wife's 458 Speciale ;)

I'll be on look out for '16 Santiago silver once I'm there, lol

welcome. I did 20x9 and 20x10.5 respectively and the fit is perfect.

HAHA, your conversation with your wife are basically the same that I have with mine. Congrats on the new car.

:welcome: I have to say Santiago Silver is an under-represented as well as underrated color!

I bought 20x9 et 35 square setup, different wheels than above. With the 1.25" drop, what's the better tire size? Does it matter or is there clearance either way? 245 or 255/35-20? I would prefer the larger. Any foreseeable issues? I'm in the airport, I will measure tomorrow. But I'm excited right now and I have nothing to do 😁Lol.

I went with 20x9 +30 square and am running 255/35/20 on Ark springs. My front tires developed a very minor rub against the inner fender lining after the springs settled so I had to do a slight fender roll and pull. Now there is no more rubbing unless I am making a turn too fast which is driver error. I should be slowing down more for those turns regardless.

Coolio! I appreciate the info. So my et 35 will probably be just fine with the 255s. I do own a fender roller, but I'd rather not have to use it. I get overzealous. And I'm super tired of having cars with no inner fenders 😑

Welcome aboard! Thank you for signing up!

Welp, I got these wheels today. I have mixed emotions about them, but I'm going to put it all together and see how it looks. Tpms and tires will be here on Saturday. I should get the wheels on next week. My springs are supposed to show up Saturday also, I will probably lower it next week. I took a picture of oem wheel weight, the 20x9 w/ 255/35-20 toyos will be 6lbs lighter at least.

Coincidentally I found this chop of Darecks old car (I think) with these wheels on it today 😁

Yup, that's my old car and I still like those wheels, Niche Vicenza, iirc

Are you going to get rid of you oem wheels?

Correct on the wheels. No, I am keeping the 18s. I like having a set of summer wheels and winter wheels.
