  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GennyBoats

I went with 20x9 +30 square and am running 255/35/20 on Ark springs. My front tires developed a very minor rub against the inner fender lining after the springs settled so I had to do a slight fender roll and pull. Now there is no more rubbing unless I am making a turn too fast which is driver error. I should be slowing down more for those turns regardless.

interesting on the tire rubbing. I'm about to have the same springs installed and my tires are the same size, My wheel isn't as wide as i'm running 8.5 38mm offset..

Hope I dont experience the same issue

I had this exchange with my lovely wife this evening (don't mind the pg13 stuff)

LOVE the conversation with the wife. The conversations with my wife are similar, except your wife is MUCH more understanding. We both came from families that weren't exactly well off, but now we do very well for ourselves so buying wheels isn't that big a deal (at least to me). But she is so far from understanding the NEED to modify my cars that she has a hard time dealing with it. Our negotiations are more like: 1) me planting seeds for a couple weeks 2) Hitting her with it when she's in a good mood.

The latest agreement was that I could go get wheels when I close this house that I'm flipping. At the end of the conversation I said, "remember this conversation, because when I sell it Im just going to go buy them." Well see how that goes...

Its probably a good thing having her around, because if she wasn't I would be driving something way too expensive and I would blow insane amounts of money modifying whatever I bought. The difference between being able to afford something and actually buying it are very real. I understand how bad of an investment buying/owning/modifying a car is. BUT, I just can't ride stock.... just not going to do it.

I guess this works for guys if they are spenders and the wife is saver.

How does it work if the wife is the spender and the guy is the saver?

"I am just not going to wear that dress/shoes/whatever again. I have already worn it once. Just not going to do it"

Tires and tpms showed today, so it's off to get tires put on rims tomorrow. Yay!🎉🍻

Can't answer that, don't have that problem. Feel incredibly sorry for those that do.

Sorry to OP for getting off topic. Keep up the good work, love the build so far. keep the pics coming!

The kids didn't leave me alone all morning, but I managed to get this done. Springs showed up too 🎉🍻

I'll try and get it properly cleaned later and get better pictures.

Any money left for landscaping?

Early morning phone pics, never got to wash it yesterday. I'm hoping to install the springs on Wednesday night.
The wheels are a bit darker than I wanted, and they show up even darker in pictures 😐

The car has 500 miles on it now, I don't have much of a commute.
I'm going to try and install the lowering springs tonight, unless my wife has other plans 😑

I'll take some better pictures soon

I'd bring a beer, if I lived closer :D

Can you measure the height of the car exactly before and after you put the new springs on. Thanks.

I'm asking, because the website says the drop is 1.2'' and I think someone installed it (from our forum) and claims that it is 1.5''. I would like to know before I ask my Wifey for increasing my allowance (aka wasting money) :D

I just finished it up, the front took me a bit to figure out. I looked at a sticky on it but the AWD front comes out differently. Anyways, 2 hours on drivers front, 45 minutes on passenger front, 1 hour total on rear for the springs. It just got dark, I'll drive it tomorrow and take pics. I did measure before and after, I'll measure again after some driving. It went down 1.5" front and 1.25" rear so far.

Sweet!
Now, I don't have to look for a shop to lower mine, when I get springs! :D

To keep the theme of me posting terrible pictures going...

These are the ARK springs, ride is barely stiffer but does stay flatter around corners. I'm quite happy with the feel of the car.

Also, I kind of now don't like the color of the wheels on this car. I am going to either keep them and paint or powdercoat them silver or graphite, or maybe trade or sell. I want a metallic and glossy look.
I am ridiculous yes. :D
