  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Get the map updated - cheaper / easier now

Installed mine yesterday. Steps are simple, but the process is painstakingly slow. Will play around with individual features today.

Graphics is certainly different than the older version, but still some roads are missing (Road was developed around 6 months back)...

That's like the 4th place you can see your speed after the speedo, HUD, and the LCD between the gauges.... lol... I never understood why you would want the LCD speed display right next to the speedometer.

It's under Settings --> Display, @ 4:22 in above video link...

Six months? My street is 3 years and not on it. Nor is it on Google maps that is allegedly very up to date.

If I select "Home" it knows where it is but not how to get me the last half mile. It directs me to turn across a sidewalk and pond into an open field. USPS gets the bills to us though.

Updates for Canadian cars are available for purchase now. $30+ $22 shipping... I was waiting for the online updater to be available but who knows when that's going to be so I purchased it, it'll hold me over until the updater is available. Hopefully for the next update.

By owning a G80 and not a Hyundai Genesis... lol

But the online updater is supposed to be free whenever it comes online.

nicely played.. just glad I didn't miss out on a free map upgrade.

I'm still getting this on the site:

As SuperKing pointed out, the free upgrade is for G80's.

Since you don't have a G80, your upgrade will not be free.

Hooray, Thanks for the heads up!

According to that Hyundai update site, the download is supposed to be free but I didn't know when that's going to come online so I bought this current update. Hoping the download site will be online for the next update.

For only $25 a pop, I decided it was time to upgrade both cars. The 2015 touch from the original v8.5 and the 2016 dial from 12.5 and installed both respective updates last night.

I played a bit with the 2015 and IMHO this upgrade is huge step up from the original v8.5. The result is like having a complete HU upgrade, here are few things I noted so far:
A - They definitely mucked around with the DSP settings, the sound positioning with the 3D sound enabled now closely resembles the ‘clarify’ features available on later models.
B - the sound is much ‘fuller’. I was able to listen to classical music at volume 5 with remarkable clarity, while the sound of some R&B music at 31 was a special unexpected treat.
C - The ‘monitor’ update is well worth it, with the addition of hue and contrast, plus all the Graphics updates, the screen can now be adjusted in multiple ways that makes the display really pop.
D - the ability to control which function is selected by using the steering wheel control is very handy.
E - They have added granular sound priority controls which I found to be a very useful addition.
F - other obscure features, such as being able to use the tune nob to do a map zoom I found to be less useful, but a fun feature never the less...

What I find odd is none of the above added features are specifically mentioned anywhere that I could find!

All in all, I found this $25 upgrade to be well worth it, it’s almost like having a new head unit. I would certainly would have paid a bit more for it, but I am glad that they are almost giving these upgrades away, for the cost of an SD card back in 2015.🍻

It's like an iPhone update - they list about a half dozen new features & it's up to the user to find the rest of em...

Thanks for the summary! I think im still on V7 so this is going to be a huge upgrade for me as well.

Just updated to v14.0 from v13.0. Not sure I notice anything different. Yet.
