Short answer? Don't. Not worth it, AT ALL. I am upgrading from the 95S91 version that came w the car as purchased in apr of 16. I figured it had been a few cycles, time to go ahead and upgrade, maybe there would be some nice little goodies... Nope. You get "3d" mapping and bird view, which is glitter, at best. Junction maps, which have in 2 hrs of testing proven to be worthless. Enhanced map UI... if it is, I can't tell. Faster bluetooth pairing, well, again, wasn't a problem to begin with. Oh, and setting a destination is "easy", well folks it wasn't hard to begin with. That's it. But hey.... errr... buzzwords and "we listen to our customers".... customers that apparently weren't speaking loudly enough as Ultimate owners still don't have access to all the functions the first two trims get. Not gonna beat that horse anymore, we all know.
Noticeable changes?
Everything takes longer to load.
Voice recognition takes longer to turn on.
Voice recognition is worse than before.
Delay after voice input longer than before.
My addresses in another state are no longer in the system, addresses that have existed for almost 20 years and were quickly found by my last version.
It keeps attenuating audio like it wants to tell me something or I have an incoming call.... then nothing happens... and a while later the audio is brought back up to previous level.
So yeah, WTG HMA, you took something that wasn't broken and "fixed it".
My humble advice would be to avoid this update. Go have a nice dinner with the wife, it's a better use of funds.
dunno if it worth pointing out, no activation code was needed, plug and play for my model.
jm2c folks.
