  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Wow, it's rare to see Michelin #2 at anything.

Bridgstone number one and Michelin a very close number two.
The Michelin Primacy tires don't come in Genesis sizes, except for the Base Trim Genesis with 17" wheels. (There are 18" sizes, but none that match the Genesis 18" sizes).

Besides, you quoted the "Combined Subjective Rating," and you have to look at which tire characteristics are most important to you. For example, The Michelin Primacy comes out ahead on dry roads, and Bridgestone comes out ahead on wet roads. Both are excellent tires.

I was referring to the latest ranking as stated under tires tested for each tire. I guess it could be said that all of the overall rankings on tirerack.com could be "Combined Subjective Rating".

Having run the Michelin Primacy MXV4 on my '02 TL previously, I can attest that that tire is a great overall tire (excluding snow), and would buy it again in an instant from that experience. Of course, I have the 17" wheels on my G.

I hope they don't ever change that tire dramatically.

Having recently installed the Primacy MXV4s on my 07 G35X I can also attest to them. Wish I could have gotten them for the Genesis but alas there was no matching 18 numbers. I went with the Continental DWS and am very happy with them they are very quiet, smooth and stick like glue.

I just put a set of the Michelin's on my wife's Santa Fe. They seem like pretty good tires. I'd like to see what a set on the Genesis would do.

I have MXV4s on my Toyota. They seem to be lasting well (thought this car is plenty lighter than a Genesis) and are good wet and dry. Haven't had a chance to run them in the snow. They are very quiet. I don't know if they would provide the level of traction desired for a RWD V8 if they had been available in the correct sizing though.
