  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Please tell me I have something set wrong.

That stupid green headlight icon in the instrument panel when the lights are on is crazy out of place and makes me things something is turned on that shouldn't be.

Anyone else?

I agree. I would also like to get ride of the seat belt chime

works perfectly.

Hmm. I'm thinking wearing the darned seat belt is a lot cheaper, and a lot safer! Please don't tell me there are people and places that don't believe the safety of seat belts...

The airbags alone are much less effective without the seat belts. I don't see the reason to buy a device just to cheat the warning system. You are cheating on yourself not the system.

I agree. That device is illegal. Click-it or ticket. Wearing a seatbelt saved my life when drunk driver hit me 3 years ago.

I do not advocate putting yourself in danger... or breaking the law.

That said, I'm not here to babysit the internet. Only posting a response to a question.

Btw, the use of this product is not illegal. Driving without a seat belt is, however.

So, getting back on topic, the green headlights instrument panel icon is normally on for everyone (when the lights are on)?

Yes, that is a normal icon which is illuminated when your lights are on.

I believe that's a legislative requirement because the Genesis dash lights are always "on". I.e. even when the outside lights are off and it's clear out the dash needs to be illuminated to be able to read it, which means there is no visual indicator for the driver to see whether the lights are on or off, so they have to put an idiot light in it's place.

Makes sense to me. Although it does appear that some folks either don't like it, or don't understand why it is there (or both). Thanks for the explanation.
