It does seem Genesis may withold delivery dates as long as possible so they can keep the deposits as long as possible , alot of car companies will take those deposits and invest that money and make money on that money while we are all kept waiting , once they tell us we have to wait 8 months and we get our deposit back they may have already profited quite a bit , they will sell out EV inventory regardless how many people cancel
Tesla has done this with the cybertruck and roadster as well

There is alot of literature out there about the millions of dollars Telsa has made on its cybertruck and roadster pre preorders but alot of those required the full price of the car paid down ,

That said i am just a little bitter about lack of info being released lol

Yes I think there is a disconnect between the first and second points he made. Yes, they use the money from deposits to their advantage (they don't keep it under the mattress), but no they don't delay a release just to make some interest. In the early Model 3 days when Tesla was close to running out of cash, Elon might have played games like that, but I don't see Genesis needing to anything close to this.

If the deposit was the full price ( if only we knew what that was) then it’s a different story. I think we are all frustrated, I for one am because my vehicle was stolen and I need a replacement and nothing is available, the GV60 is my best option atm. That being said I’m hopeful that the Genesis dealer call that is apparently happening today will get a new release of info including price and pre-order updates.

That is what i meant , i did not mean they would delay the release of the vehicle , i just meant the delivery date of individual vehicles , if the price is right i will keep my deposit down unless they tell me the car is 8 months out , however if they string me along with monthly updates for 3 or 4 more months i will be less likely to pull my deposit

I made my reservation online on April 9th, and confirm by Genesis dealer at April 11th.
No email confirmation yet on my Salville Silver Performance w/ White interior.
I'm going to poke my dealer to see what is my rank; since they are suppose to host a Canada wide dealer call with the HQ.

I got the same factory order update from my Genesis dealer. They said my build rank is 717 for the advanced and 200 for the performance pre-order. I pre-ordered both and plan to cancel one once pricing is released. I put my reservation online on April 23.

I'm really hoping that the advanced is eligible for the rebate. however, I'll probably end up taking which ever comes first between the gv60 advanced and ioniq5 ultimate AWD.

None of the north american/ youtuber has any review it compare to the BxZ4(Solterra), F150 lightning, i4 had been out.

And the press will be invited to Houston for press review before that (Next week).
There's embargo until May 17.

May 17 2022 or 2023? We've been fooled many times by Genesis so I want to make sure we have the right date.

No kidding, every time we get to one of their previously communicated dates, there's suddenly a new date 2-4 weeks in the future.
Really disappointed with the communication. If the supply issue wasn't what it is, I'd have walked and bought something else by now.

Not sure if this is common knowledge but looks like this is the US owners manual, some good info in there including battery preconditioning to charger! Should be the same for Canada I'd imagine, even some Canadian stuff in there.

Next update on build status is June, or update of any kind? Another month to wait before pricing? What about the big conference call today?

Stating that orders can take up to 8 months isn’t of much value.
Aside from knowing your number - and therefore guessing how much longer you’ve got to wait once you hear of others with lower numbers starting to receive theirs - this wasn‘t a particularly informative communication.
Now, those of us that haven’t even received our numbers will get more frustrated.
