First published comments on increasing the rebate were made by the minister in charge back in December, speculation was much earlier than that.I wonder if people's reactions would have been different if they had released the price from the start. I feel as though people have built up their expectations through rumor to the point where they expected a certain outcome. I mean to me, it sounds like a lot of people are upset about missing out on the federal rebate. But most of us had already placed the preorder before they even considered increasing the federal rebate.
You said “Most of us had already placed the preorder before they even considered increasing the Federal rebate.”Honesty I make it a habit not to allow hearsay (especially when it comes to what the government will or won't do in the future) into any of my decision making. Just good practice imo.
I was just pointing out that the government had public discussion about changes to the rebate, ie increasing for higher priced SUVs and Trucks, as well as increasing funding and timeframes months before pre-orders opened.
Clearly they could have not followed through or changed the program in different ways.
I just keep going back to the decision by Audi early in 2022 to change their separate models for a base model with packages to get the Q4 into the rebate scheme. Clearly they had an inkling that the rebate would be changing, as I would assume the govt would have had consultations with stakeholders. I would also assume that Hyundai would have been afforded the same consultations.
