  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

GV60 Canadian Deposit - Local Dealer Information & Timelines

I wonder if people's reactions would have been different if they had released the price from the start. I feel as though people have built up their expectations through rumor to the point where they expected a certain outcome. I mean to me, it sounds like a lot of people are upset about missing out on the federal rebate. But most of us had already placed the preorder before they even considered increasing the federal rebate.
First published comments on increasing the rebate were made by the minister in charge back in December, speculation was much earlier than that.
Honesty I make it a habit not to allow hearsay (especially when it comes to what the government will or won't do in the future) into any of my decision making. Just good practice imo.
You said “Most of us had already placed the preorder before they even considered increasing the Federal rebate.”

I was just pointing out that the government had public discussion about changes to the rebate, ie increasing for higher priced SUVs and Trucks, as well as increasing funding and timeframes months before pre-orders opened.

Clearly they could have not followed through or changed the program in different ways.

I just keep going back to the decision by Audi early in 2022 to change their separate models for a base model with packages to get the Q4 into the rebate scheme. Clearly they had an inkling that the rebate would be changing, as I would assume the govt would have had consultations with stakeholders. I would also assume that Hyundai would have been afforded the same consultations.

Web site doesn't show lease prices yet. They could still make leasing affordable with a lower interest rate than Kia or Hyundai. At 6,99% (Kia), they eat part of the government rebates. Still little hope....or not.

Another question is whether they’ll offer free Electrify Canada/America charging for a few years. It has already been announced for all US Hyundai/Kia/Genesis E-GMP cars, and in Canada for the Ioniq 5 and EV6.

Electrify Canada is a joke. About 15% of Canada lives in the GTA and they have three charging stations in the area, none of them centrally located.
I spoke to them about six months ago to ask if they had any plans to build more stations in the GTA and they couldn’t commit to plans to do so.
I emailed them Tuesday morning to ask about whether they have an arrangement with Genesis for free charging and haven’t heard back yet from them.

They won’t say anything until an agreed-upon announcement date.
I think the idea is that they place them along major highway routes to enable road trips, not in urban centres where we can just avoid using our own electricity.

Did anyone receive an email from genesis motor Canada today around 11am?
The email says you can now order.

Yes got that email, which is strange as I've already preordered at the start of Feb. They must have sent it to everyone who registered an interest on the website.

I got the email and I went through the process, asked for an estimate for my trade-in and filled out the credit application. Now it's pending, waiting on the credit review. I just got back a trade-in offer of $41,000 for my 2019 Kia Stinger, which I accepted. Now my lease dropped from $1692 monthly to $968 monthly which is still ridiculous, because I put the same trade-in on a G80 which is $80k and the lease was $270/mo. Something is seriously wrong with the pricing. I think they forgot to include the residual value.

I got the email, but couldn’t do anything with it, as the only option showing is to lease the vehicle. I can’t put it to cash purchase. Also, a number of the accessories shown make me wonder whether the info is accurate - it shows 18” wheels and a block heater for the vehicle. I’m doubtful the first would work, certain the second would not.

Alright, Genesis Canada has remove the Pre-order form on their site.
Pre-order closed. I wonder how many people backout after they annonce the pricing.

I am tentively holding on to my reservation but with recent indication that there will be no HDA2 I am seriously wavering.

At least one, I just received my cancellation confirmation. A $14k premium over a fully loaded Ioniq5 Ultimate just makes no sense to me, especially when the difference is less than 5k in the US. At +$5k I would have been in. As supplies normalize in the next couple of years, the resale value of this car will plummet - it's greatly overvalued due to the current supply and gas situations.
Also, given their adjusted timelines, I suspect my Rivian pre-order will now arrive earlier, which seems crazy.

No HDA2, no deal! I’m canceling it.

I'm curious, how many people have received their online trade in approvals? I've heard some have received theirs very quickly.

I just submited mine. I'll validate their time. But i guess it depends on the dealer's ability to respond to their inquiries.

Submitted details on Friday, and got an e-mail from my Dealer this morning confirming he will appraise my trade when I do the road test. He added I should hear from him shortly.

Did he give you a sense as to when the test drive would happen?
Timing on availability continues to be a black box.
